LETTERMAN SHOW IS DENIED PERMITS FOR SPIDERMAN
Worlds Fastest Top Fuel Motorcycle won't be seeing Broadway

NY, NY  - Larry "Spiderman" McBride, is going to have to be content with the drag strip, where it's legal for him to make a 240mph pass in 5 seconds.  Going where m otorcycle drag racing has never been before,  AMA/Prostar marketing director, Jim Cara,  brought McBride and his machine to the table of The Late Show with David Letterman. "The process seemed to be looking good, and we were looking forward to being live on Broadway with the bike, during the week of April 25." said Cara "The plan was to have Larry do a startup procedure, followed by a short burnout in front of the studio, we had a backup plan laid out in case of rain, and had footage of some spectacular McBride passes to follow along with an interview." Larry and his crew were prepped and packed, all-set to wake up the nation in support of the Lucas Oil Nationals, May 30-April 1 in Virginia.

Today however, AMA/Prostar was notified by Chris Moloney, a segment producer for The Late Show via email that "unfortunately, the Late Show won't be able to secure a permit from the city, and will therefore be unable to use Larry or his bike on the show. " Moloney reviewed a package with several ideas of how to incorporate the Spiderman into the program, along with a proposed show idea that would challenge other late show hosts who claim to have super fast motorcycles. The news would seem discouraging to some, but Cara sees it still as a step forward for McBride, AMA, Prostar, and motorcycle dragracing as a whole. "To think that we had gotten this far in the process with a franchise such as CBS and David Letterman is a reward in itself," he adds "The whole Late Show staff now knows who Larry Spiderman McBride is, they've seen the baddest drag bike on earth, and they were pushing to have us live on Broadway. I don't think that motorcycle drag racing has ever gotten this far on a national level. I'm proud to be a part of making it happen."
