PIRELLI-BACKED GARRISON POWERS THROUGH HAVASU SAND TO CAPTURE
WORCS VICTORY
Rome, Ga. – Zip-Ty Racing’s Bobby Garrison, riding on Pirelli tires, posted a
three-point lead in World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) racing over KTM’s
Kurt Caselli at Round 3, the Kalgard Pro Main Event in Lake Havasu. Leading 74-71
over Caselli, Garrison has put together two consecutive wins after finishing
seventh at the opening round of the WORCS.
Garrison’s road to the front wasn’t easy as RPM Racing’s Kyle Summers jumped
out to the early lead with a holeshot. Garrison way making the most of his 11th-place
start, warding off powerful sand roosts. Within two laps, Garrison moved from
11th place to third place.
Kawasaki’s Ricky Dietrich was stalking Summers upfront, forcing the KTM rider
to crash after losing his front end in the sand on lap five. Trailing in second,
Garrison, who is a sand specialist, moved into the lead on lap 11, securing his
second consecutive victory on the season.
“This was a tough day in tough conditions,” said Josh Whitmire, Pirelli’s MX
Manager. “Bobby fought hard to get to the front after his poor start, but rose
to the occasion as he passed Dietrich. It was a great race, and we are happy
to have Garrison riding aboard Pirelli tires.”
The next WORCS stop is in Auburn, Wash., April 11-13.
