Parts Magazine and Drag Specialties Magazine are produced entirely in a digital format and are printed using state of the art computer-to-plate technology. Art must be supplied on CD or online to our FTP site with electronic color proofs provided.

DIGITAL OUTPUT CHECKLIST:

• Magazine page trim size is 8 3/8 x 10 7/8 with a bleed of at least 1/8 inch.
• Send ads as high res Adobe PDF document (preferred), Photoshop .eps, .tif, InDesign, or Quark 4.0 or later.
• Convert all RGB images to CMYK.
• Send electronic proof, even if art is sent to FTP site (can use lo-res jpg).
• Do NOT send DCS, DCS2 or Film.
• Include all fonts and graphics.
• Fonts must NOT be True Type fonts.
• Please verify that you have included all fonts used in layouts. Under the menu “Utilities” pull down the “Font Usage.” Note the names of the fonts used and place copies of those screen and printer fonts on your transfer disk.
• When creating text with attributes, such as bold and italic, use that specific font (i.e Helvetica Bold Oblique) DO NOT USE THE STYLE MENU TO ASSIGN THESE ATTRIBUTES.
• Do NOT use JPEGs.
• Do NOT use JPEG COMPRESSION ON EPS FILES.
• Do NOT use LZW COMPRESSION ON TIFFs.
• All graphics must be saved as .tif or single-file .eps files only.
• Do NOT use tiff files in a colored background.
• Text printing over drop shadows or graphics should be set to knock out.
• When sending a two-page spread, please send as two pages side by side.
• ANY SPECIFIED COLOR MUST NOT EXCEED A TOTAL TONAL VALUE OF 280. That is, the percentage of tint of each color (K+C+M+Y) when added, must not exceed 280%. 
• A “rich black” color should be used to avoid a “washed out” appearance whenever large fonts, graphics, boxes or backgrounds are to print as black. Use values of 100% black, 40% cyan, 30% magenta and 30% yellow to create a “rich black.”
