etails always make the difference. Spyke’s starter motors, especially the Stealth Starter Motor, the flagship of the line, add that clean, streamlined look that won’t go unnoticed. Available chrome-plated, polished and in “stealth” black (the chrome and polished starters have engraved end caps; black starters have smooth end caps) this starter works with all the engine finishes. The Stealth Starter isn’t just about looks, either. Along with all those concealed bolts and the minimalist lines this is one powerful starter motor. It’s a perfect match for even the biggest-displacement/highest-compression engine. There’s even an optional Krypto-9 Starter Drive available, an ultra-strong high-torque drive that’ll deliver maximum strength and longevity. The drive sprags are made from high-carbon alloy, and double-cage construction provides full phasing with a tighter fit. This is one tough customer. The Krypto-9 drive even carries a limited lifetime warranty.
Then there’s Spyke’s Supertorque Starters. These will twist up to 46-percent more cranking torque compared to an OE Harley motor. That Spyke intelligent gear-reduction drive design is here, too. There are a couple Supertorque models offered and the 1.4kW starters perform great and produce full output with a 300 CCA battery.
Spyke has everything to go with those starters, too. There’s a complete line of accessories to complete either one of those packages. There are Starter Button Kits, Jackshaft Kits and to beef up a stock starter there’s a heavy-duty starter drive clutch that’s a direct OEM replacement. For good measure there are Spyke 32 Amp Charging Systems.
Spyke has long been known as a leader in the field. You’ll find the most complete applications list of starters in the business right here. There are models, sizes and finishes for all the American made V-Twins. Pay particular attention to that Stealth Starter, though. It’s one great combination of looks, style and performance–and a detail that makes a difference. Drag Specialties carries the Spyke lineup and it’s always in stock.
