Rolled Thunder Silver Bullet Fishtails.

lip-Ons make more sense than ever now. It’s the affordable way to looks, style, sound and high-performance…and Samson has just about every size and style you could ask for. Thumb through the FatBook. You’ll find at least 30 different styles of Samson Slip-On mufflers to choose from. Sportsters, Dynas, Softails, FL baggers–they’re all covered. Slip-Ons are easy on the pocketbook, they’re quick and easy to install and when you’ve put on a set of Samson mufflers you’ve just given that bike a good looking, good sounding exhaust without breaking the bank.
With all those Samson sizes, styles and applications available there’s way too much offered to cover it all here. That’s what the FatBook is for. It’s worth noting, though, that out of all those options the Samson Rolled Oval Muffler is still the most popular and best selling Slip-On in the whole lineup. It’s been that way since its inception way back in the ‘90s. The Rolled Oval has the right look and the right sound, nice and deep and throaty. It’s been a perennial favorite.
Whatever the choice, you’re installing more than just looks and sound here, too. Every Samson Slip-on–no matter it’s size, style or end-cap–is a real performance upgrade. For a smooth, power-building transition of the exhaust flow, for instance, Samson mufflers have a coned-inlet to the baffle. Then there’s the internal placement of that baffle itself. Unlike some mufflers where the baffle is pushed all the way to the front of the muffler body Samson has found that a chamber left open in front of the baffle, about 4-inches or so from the inlet, lets the gases expand in the muffler before they even enter the baffle and that really makes a difference. The design extracts even more power out of the motorcycle. This is a muffler technology Samson developed way back in the early-‘90s and it’s just as performance-effective today as it was when it was introduced. Some of those Samson Slip-Ons also include the patented “Varitech” baffle. This Samson-exclusive actually sucks the exhaust through the muffler, enhancing flow and performance even more.
The point here is that, as good looking and sweet sounding as a Samson Slip-on is, there’s performance to be gained, too. And of course every one of those mufflers comes wrapped in Samson quality. Top-quality materials, top-quality manufacturing techniques and top-quality finishes–including “Quad Chrome” plating–are all part of the package. Every one of those Slip-Ons is a direct, no-hassle fit to the OE head pipe and comes with all the necessary brackets and hardware.
Take a look through the FatBook. Along with that ever- popular Rolled Oval there’s the entire Rolled Thunder lineup. There are the Silver Bullets in 3-inch, 3 1/2-inch and big 4-inch diameters. There’s the Road Stealth mufflers with their engraved end caps, double-wall construction and Quiet Baffles to lower the sound by 5- to 8-decibels when compared to other performance mufflers. There are straight-design muffler bodies, there are tapers and there are end caps galore. There’s a Samson Slip-On for every rider and every bike. The only problem–and it’s a good one–is choosing between all those options.
Slip-Ons make sense, and they’re an easy sale. For a fraction of the price of a full replacement system, a set of Slip-Ons will give any bike the look, sound and style of a custom along with a healthy boost in performance. Drag Specialties has those Samson Slip-Ons, and they’re always in stock.
