here’s an old saying in racing: “Speed costs money–how fast do you want to go?” You can judge the truth of this yourself by asking anyone involved in racing.      They’ll tell you the faster you want to go, the more you have to spend on things like engines, tires, and exhaust systems. It’s this last item that’s most popular with street riders, but even then it’s hard to get your money’s worth these days, when some systems look a lot better than they work. But don’t worry–if you feel the need for speed, but don’t have a race team’s budget, you can still get an affordable performance boost from Python slip-on mufflers.
Slip-ons represent the best bang for your buck when it comes to exhaust upgrades. They replace the restrictive stock mufflers while retaining the stock header pipes, making installation a snap and saving money compared to a complete system. Oftentimes a set of slip-ons is all that’s needed to wake up a sleepy engine, as well as add a touch of class to an otherwise ordinary-looking machine. Python slip-ons do both.
The Python name is synonymous with performance–the first anti-reversion cones appeared on street systems bearing the Python name–and this year Python is building on its reputation and experience with an expanded line of slip-on mufflers for 2008 models, including the Predator, the Viper, and Python3 Slash-cut Slip-ons.
The Predator is the latest offering from Python. Each set comes with 3-1/2-inch full-coverage heat shields that prevent heat discoloration to keep them looking great for thousands of miles. Also included are billet end treatments with machine channels for a look of understated style. You’ll not only feel gains in both torque and horsepower, but you’ll hear an aggressive exhaust note that attests to every added horsepower and foot-pound. Predator slip-ons are designed to work with stock header pipes, but combined with Python True Dual headers they’re the ultimate true-dual system. They’re available for ‘95-‘08 FLT, FLHT, FLHX, FLTR and FLHR models, and like all Python exhausts they’re made in the U.S.A.
Viper slip-ons pack the same increases in power and torque as the Predator into a gorgeous slash-cut chrome muffler with a 3-1/2-inch round design that produces a menacing growl that does justice to any big-inch Big Twin. Like Predator slip-ons Vipers can be used with stock header pipes or mated to a set of Python True Duals to make a true-dual system that looks as good as it works. Vipers are made in the U.S.A. and are available for ‘95-‘08 FLT, FLHT, FLHX, FLTR and FLHR models.
Rounding out the new-for-2008 line of Python slip-ons are Python3 Slash-cut Slip-ons. They use the same baffle as Python3 exhaust systems, and can be used with stock header pipes to produce the same good looks and great performance. Each muffler has an embossed Python3 logo on it, and the set comes with all the mounting brackets and hardware for easy, hassle-free installation. Python3 Slash-cuts are made in the U.S.A. and are available for ‘07-‘08 FLSTF; ‘07-‘08 FXST/B/C, ‘07-‘08 FLSTC; ‘08 FXCW/C; ‘05-‘08 FLSTN; ‘08 FLSTSB; and ‘91-‘08 Dyna Glide models (except ‘08 FXDF).
As all these new products for 2008 models prove, Python is dedicated to continually expanding its line with more styles and more applications.
