famous line about boating is that the two happiest days of a boater’s life are the day he buys a boat…and the day he sells it. As I’m told, the thrill of the purchase soon fades away and it becomes a lot of work, and the boat often sits unused for long periods of time. Just the rental cost of a slip in the harbor or lake can get pricey. History has shown that the longer that boat sits unused, the desire of the owner grows to get rid of it, and he eventually does.      At Drag Specialties, they get it when it comes to understanding that nothing happens in this business until someone rides their motorcycle. And to be successful selling motorcycle products, they need to know their stuff, and to be as involved in the sport as the consumers that buy from you, the retailers.      I couldn’t agree more. I was lucky to be able to ride with the crew from Drag on their recent “Runnin’ the Ozarks” event in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. We all had a great time and I thoroughly enjoyed logging some miles on my old XLCR.      Check out our report of the ride on page 18 and I hope to see you at the Drag Specialties ride next year. They haven’t announced a location for it yet, but with Sturgis, The Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina and now the Ozarks behind them, you have to know it will be another great place.      Unlike the boaters, let’s never give our motorcycle customers a reason to want to sell their bike…unless they’re trading it in on a new one, of course.
