MF is first and foremost a performance company; everything they make is focused on increasing the performance of your motorcycle or ATV. Enhancement isn’t just about dynos and theories at FMF, it’s also about research, development, testing and a lot of racing at the top levels of the sport. FMF goes racing almost everywhere and in many facets, from Supercross, motocross and off-road, to roadracing and ATVs. And it is on the racetrack in the hands of some of the world’s top professional racers where FMF products are pushed beyond the limits of normal riders. The end result for you and your customers are products built to perform, built to fit, and built to last for the duration.
Let’s look at FMF’s “track” record so far this year: In January, Jason Lawrence took his first ever Supercross Lites win in a muddy, rain-soaked San Francisco stadium. That was just the beginning of 2008 for FMF and Lawrence, as he went on to win the first title of his young career by capturing the 2008 West Coast Supercross Lites Championship with multiple race wins and podiums. A Supercross Lites Championship is a big deal and FMF is extremely proud of Lawrence and their products that helped him to the title. Riding for FMF, Lawrence uses the Factory 4.1 exhaust system with a Megabomb header.
FMF is also successful in the top levels of roadracing. This year, Corona Extra Honda’s Jake Holden gave the new CBR1000RR its first-ever Superstock victory at Auto Club Speedway. Holden worked his way through the lead pack on the restart (the race was stopped on the opening lap when Fernando Villa crashed), starting fifth before steadily moving his way toward the front. On the third lap, Holden was fourth and he stayed there until the eighth lap when he moved to third. On the 14th lap, he took the lead with a pass on leader Robertino Pietri. From there Holden just had to hold the lead and race to the checkered flag. It was not only the new CBR1000RR’s first big win, but also the first big win for the FMF Apex exhaust system. FMF Apex exhaust systems are now shipping and this race-winning product is now available to you and your customers for their performance streetbike needs.
In off-road racing, FMF almost completely dominates. In the Grand National Cross Country Series (GNCC), FMF-equipped riders have won all of the events run so far this season. Team Red Bull/KTM’s David Knight has won four of the six rounds on his FMF-powered KTM and has a comfortable points lead. Close behind him are FMF/Suzuki Off-Road teammates Paul Whibley and Charlie Mullins with one victory each. Team FMF/Suzuki Off-Road is also dominating the OMA series, sweeping the podium at the opening round and winning every round run since. Team FMF/Suzuki Off-Road uses Factory Fatty Exhausts with Powercore silencers on their RM250 2-strokes and Factory 4.1 systems with Mega-Bomb headers and Q4Ti Mufflers on their RM-Z450 EFI 4-strokes.
The FMF team is a major force in freestyle as well. Nate Adams competed in the inaugural NAVY Moto X World Championships at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium earlier this year. Nate started off the two-day televised event by taking the gold in the Speed and Style competition on Saturday. The line-up was loaded with both freestyle and racing champions, but none proved strong enough to beat the talented Adams who, aboard his Factory 4.1 MegaBomb Header equipped 4-stroke Yamaha, topped all comers in the race/freestyle combined competition.
Adams, running a Factory Fatty Shorty Silencer, ruled the freestyle competition as well. His superman seat-grab flip over the 115-foot gap to a back-flip Cordova was executed flawlessly for big points. Winning the first three rounds, and sitting in the top qualifying position, Nate’s confidence exploded onto the course and he finished on top of the podium with a final score of 93.80. Nate also proved to be the crowd favorite when freestyle fans voted to award him the Evel Knievel Most Outstanding Rider Award.
Supercross, motocross, roadracing, off-road racing and freestyle, FMF is there and winning with the same products your customers can use to enhance the performance of their machines. There is no better test-bed for performance products than winning races at the highest levels. FMF has done that and will continue; it is a “passion for performance” they don’t ever want to work without. You can believe the FMF company mantra, “FMF, feel the power!” Your Parts Unlimited rep has all the details on all of the quality performance products available from FMF.
