had Reed has done it again. Aboard his Bridgestone-shod Yamaha Reed took the win at the last AMA/FIM World Supercross event of the season, and with that win in Las Vegas clinched the 2008 AMA/FIM World Supercross Championship. That’s the second Supercross Series Championship for this Bridgestone-running Australian, a repeat of his 2004 victory. Starting in Anaheim and continuing right through to that Las Vegas finale, Chad’s season was filled with first- and second-place finishes.
This is becoming a regular thing. When it comes to winning, whether it’s Supercross, MX, road racing, Cross Country or Enduro, more often than not it’s Bridgestone on the podium. Top riders like Chad Reed, James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael all race and win with Bridgestone. So do plenty of amateurs and weekend enthusiasts. Bridgestone, as all these guys have found, makes tires that win–in all conditions.
And this season, with the addition of the brand-new M203 and M204 soft-terrain MX tires and the new hard-terrain M603 and M604 tires added to the lineup, there are more of those winning Bridgestones than ever before. These tires follow right in the winning tracks of last year’s M403 and M404 intermediate-terrain MX tires. So now there are three new Bridgestone specialists, the M203/M204, M403/M404 and M603/M604. Hard-chargers everywhere will be lining up for all of them.
The M203 (front) is a brand-new tire designed for broad range use in soft and intermediate terrain applications. It provides improved grip with even more stability and braking power. All this is available in sizes to match today’s four-stroke machines. There are 14-inch tires, 17-inchers, 19-inchers and 21-inch tires. The corresponding M204 (rear) features a race-proven tread pattern designed with extra-wide block spacing for great drive and improved slide. The tall tread blocks with shoulder steps and an increased base angle radius deliver reliable stability and exceptional durability. Once again there are all the sizes riders need, 12-inch tires, 14-inchers, 16-inchers, 18-inchers and 19-inch tires.
The new M603/M604 Bridgestones are the ones for intermediate to hard terrain. The M603 (front) employs a totally new tread-block pattern that allows each block to adapt to the ground surface for improved balance, drive, stability and light handling. All this is matched to the power and torque characteristics of the current four-stroke machines. These tires are offered in an 80/100-21 and 90/100-21 size. The M604 (rear) has a redesigned broad-range and Supercross-proven tread pattern that cuts right through the loose terrain to find race-winning traction and grip on a firm base. These tires are available in both 18-inch and 19-inch sizes.
So that makes it three. Bridgestone’s new M203/M204 is the tire to have when the terrain is at its softest. The M403/M404 works its magic in the intermediate conditions. And when the action’s happening on the hard-pack there’s the new M603/M604 combo. Every one of them will give riders their best shot at the podium. You can ask Chad Reed about that…
