hile all oil coolers aim to reduce temperatures all oil coolers aren’t created equal. They all don’t do the same job, either. Just cooling the oil isn’t enough. Whatever’s gained there can be quickly lost if that cooler is also causing a pressure drop. It’s Jagg’s philosophy, however, to deliver oil coolers with an engineered balance between cooling and flow. With Jagg one is just as important as the other. Of course cooling is paramount, but it’s not uncommon to see as much as a 10.0 PSI drop in oil pressure with some coolers. With a Jagg that number will rarely exceed three.
That’s a huge selling point. Jagg’s combination of durability, performance and flow makes Jagg the choice of top race teams in all forms of motorsport. A Jagg Oil Cooler on a Harley just might be the smartest move a rider makes. Engine longevity goes up, performance is enhanced and there are gains in everything from horsepower to fuel mileage. That Jagg Oil Cooler is going to be there for the long-haul, too; these oil coolers are built to last.
Outwardly, oil coolers all look pretty much alike. With a Jagg, however, there are marked differences–and they’re not all readily seen. The brazing, for instance. It’s not merely a method of construction here. Jagg actually uses this step to gain an even greater performance advantage. The fins on a Jagg Oil Cooler, for example, are fully brazed for a “zero” heat transfer barrier. Each fin also uses precise mini-louvers to further the effectiveness of the cooling. The fin is the most visible part of any oil cooler.      Take a look at Jagg’s. And if you could look inside a Jagg Oil Cooler you’d also see Jagg’s in-line turbulators. These gently stir the fluid being cooled to ensure complete fluid exposure to the entire internal surface area of the oil cooler. Without pressure loss. Jagg is the pioneer of this technology, and here again those turbulators are fully brazed along the entire internal length of the tube for that zero heat transfer barrier and unmatched strength.
Oil coolers are important. It’s just as important to bolt on a good one. Every Jagg Oil Cooler takes the engineered “systems approach” to oil-cooler performance, balancing cooling with flow. Drag Specialties has them all.
