Icon’s Airframe helmets offer riders the ultimate in cooling and ventilation, along with Icon’s trademark style, comfort and safety features. Available in 22 colorways, the Airframe is a must-see!

he closest thing to air-conditioning for your head” is not only a tag line, it truly speaks to the primary criteria put in place from the onset of the design process Icon established for the new Airframe line of helmets. Developing a truly functional ventilation system within a helmet speaks to Icon’s continued drive to identify and resolve everyday issues encountered by riders as they relate to safety equipment. The cooling brought by real, working ventilation is a benefit every rider wants. Although ventilation was one of the important criterions it was not the only item on Icon’s list. The Airframe Helmet also includes Icon’s continued commitment to safety along with new and exciting features that relate to face shield functionality, comfort and fit, weight, and styling.
With the Airframe’s Supervent System, Icon created ventilation that actually works on the helmet. The angled front 20mm intake holes ram air directly into the helmet with no twists, turns and wind blocking angles that prevent many helmets from properly cooling. Air won’t go in a helmet that it can’t get out of so angled 35mm rear holes exhaust warm air at high and low speeds. The angling of these holes in the EPS liner required Icon inventing a new technology with investment in highly specialized machinery. There are even two extra exhaust holes in the lower rear of the helmet for air coming through the head opening, which, in other helmets, has nowhere to go.
Proshield Precision Optic Shields provide riders with a clear undistorted line of sight, scratch resistant coating, quick, tool-less shield change, and side plates for more graphic real estate. Plus, they are Fog-Free coated. Each Proshield is equipped with Icon’s Prolock system, which utilizes a metal pin lock to ensure your shield stays put, period. Icon Proshields are also offered in a variety of tinted styles that meet or exceed Vehicle Safety Commission Regulations (VESC-8).
Comfort and fit not only reduce fatigue but also play a key role in the effectiveness of a helmet in the event of an impact. Because the Airframe was designed with 3 shell sizes and 4 EPS sizes it is available in size XXS thru XXXL. The Airframe’s cheek pads and liners are also interchangeable and available in different thicknesses for that custom fit.
The Icon Airframe helmets exceed the Snell M2005 and the D.O.T. FMVSS #218 standards. Airframe helmets will also be sold in Europe with the ECE 2205 safety standard, in Japan with the SG standard and in Australia with the SAI 1698 standard. And that is saying a lot.
How much does it weigh? Well it depends on helmet size of course but as an example, Icon’s medium helmet weighs in at 1650g/3.6lbs–which is no more and no less than needed to exceed the Snell M2005 and the D.O.T. FMVSS #218 standards without compromising the new features of the Airframe.
With more colorways for women, the interiors consist of a removable washable liner, screen printed to match the exterior design! The Airframe is available in 22 colorways, ranging from solids to the insane illustrations Icon is known for. Drag Specialties has them all, so contact your rep today!
