Muller’s innovative Kicker Kit for five-speed Harleys combines classic styling with today’s technology. The Kicker Arm is not included, but don’t worry, Muller has those available too!

n the early days riding motorcycles was a lot of work. You had to manually adjust the ignition timing as you rode, squirt oil into the engine by hand, and pedal when the drive belt slipped on hills. These days, however, motorcycles have plenty of power, they handle well, and they stop better than ever, all of which makes the rider’s job easier than ever before. But for some riders there’s something that’s still not easy enough–clutch pull. Modern big-inch engines need stiff clutch springs to make sure all that power gets to the ground, and pulling the clutch is still something the rider needs to do by hand. Now there’s a way to make that job easier, too–the Muller Power Clutch.
The stock Harley clutch lifter uses a ball-and-ramp assembly that turns the motion of pulling the clutch cable into one that pushes a pushrod, which releases the tension on the plates while you shift gears. The leverage built into the ball and ramp determines how much force is needed to actuate the pushrod. The Muller Power Clutch uses a ball-and-ramp assembly with a modified leverage ratio to make it easier to actuate the pushrod, which means the pull at the lever is reduced.
The Muller Power Clutch replaces the OE inner and outer ramp assemblies and is a snap to install, with no drilling or spacers required. With a 40-percent reduction in clutch-pull effort, it’s a must-have for modified engines, or for riders who want a lighter lever pull to reduce fatigue. The Muller Power Clutch is made in Germany and is available for ‘87-‘08 Big Twins, ‘86-‘93 Sportsters, ‘94-‘08 Sportsters and Buells and Baker right-side-drive transmissions with mechanical clutch releases.
While some riders want things a little bit easier, there are still those who don’t mind a little extra effort, and in fact welcome it. To them, pushing a starter button doesn’t seem like the righteous way to start a real motorcycle like a Harley, but it’s been the only way to do it for years, even since Harley phased out kickstarters. Once again Muller has the answer–the Kicker Kit for five-speed Harleys.
The Kicker Kit combines classic style with up-to-date technology. It’s a marvel of engineering, so compact that it adds only .905 inches of width to the original gearbox cover. Because it’s so narrow, it not only works with stock exhaust systems without modifications, but most aftermarket systems, as well.
The Muller Kicker Kit works independently of the electric starter so you can still use the “electric leg” if your engine is reluctant to wake up on cold mornings. It comes ready to install with all the necessary accessories except a kicker arm, which must be ordered separately. The Kicker Kit is available for ‘00-‘06 FXST and FLST models, ‘99 FXST and FLST models and ‘88-‘98 FXST and FLST models.
And what’s the perfect kicker arm for the Kicker Kit? Why, Muller’s own kicker arm, of course. It’s made of chrome-plated steel, and the beefy arm is ergonomically shaped to stand up to heavy forces. The 7-degree inward bend allows more space and more freedom of movement for your leg. One part number fits all Muller Kicker Kits.
Whether your customers are aiming to make riding more effortless, or to put a little more “kick” in their bikes, the Power Clutch and Kicker Kit from Muller fill the bill.
