buffalo walks into a bar…” sounds like the set-up of an old joke, but Buffalo Bars from Drag Specialties are the real thing. After all, many surveys show one of the first things most riders change on their bikes is the handlebar, some for more comfort, and some for more style. Drag Specialties’ Buffalo Bars offer both.
For those who live life in the large lane, there’s the 1-1/2-inch Big Buffalo Bar for the “fattest” look around. These chrome-plated bars are drilled and dimpled for stock controls, and come in a wide selection of bends for the ultimate in comfort and looks. Buffalo Bars also come in 1-1/4-inch diameter, including two new Ape Hanger designs in 18-inch and 20-inch end-rise heights. They’re brilliantly chromed, drilled for internal wiring, and work with standard controls. The Springer-style bars have 4-3/4-inch center knurling for a smooth finished look, and they work with OE Springer risers and clamps. The clamps cover all of the center area, which is sized down to 1 inch, and 1-1/4-inch-thick risers are available to complete the Buffalo look. Gauge mounts for T-Bars are sold separately.
Risers for Buffalo Bars come in two sizes, 1-1/2-inch for the Big Buffalo and 1-1/4-inch for the Buffalo. Big Buffalo risers are made of show-chromed billet aluminum and are made to use with any bar with a 1-1/2-inch-diameter clamping area. They come in five heights, from 1-1/2 inches to 6 inches. Buffalo risers are for bars with 1-inch clamping surfaces and use Buffalo or OE-style clamps. They come in four straight heights and two heights in pullback style.
Two new Ape Hangers–in 18-inch and 20-inch heights–are available in the Tattoo handlebar series, which feature an engraved flame design on exposed sections of the bar. Tattoos are drilled for internal wiring and work with stock controls, and billet gauge mounts are available separately.
In addition to the Big Buffalo, Buffalo, and Tattoo series of handlebars, Drag Specialties has a full line of 1-inch replacement bars for stock and custom applications. No matter if your customers are looking for more comfort, or a more stylish look, odds are they’ll find the bar they’re looking for among these beautifully chrome-plated bars made of seamless tubing. They’re available with dimples in a smooth, unknurled style (with some exceptions) and come in Bagger style; Ape Hangers from 10 to 18 inches; Dragster style in wide and extra-wide; Buckhorns in low, medium, and high; T-Bars in 6-, 8-, and 10-inch heights; and Flattrack, Beach Bar, and Superbar bends.
All Big Buffalo, Buffalo, Tattoo, and standard bars are made in the U.S.A. They’re already easy to sell, but now Drag Specialties is making them easier to stock, too, with new packaging that’s consistent with existing Drag Specialties packaging. The new packaging not only protects the product better during shipping, it actually costs less to ship, and it takes up less storage space in your parts department so you have more room to stock other great Drag Specialties products. The transition to the new packing is going on right now, and will be complete soon.
With the style and selection of handlebars available from Drag Specialties, including the Big Buffalo, the Buffalo, the Tattoo, and the standard series, it’s easy to see this is no buffalo joke. In fact, maybe the set-up should be “A lot of customers walked into your store to buy Buffalos…”
