     Looking for custom? Those new Cobras, the AV71/AV72s, will fill that bill. This is the 2008 replacement for the Venom R, and the custom starts with a new “Snakeskin Sidewall” treatment and a distinctive molded-in Cobra logo. The Cobra isn’t just a pretty face either. Cobras are built to perform. New tread patterns featuring Avon’s EAF (Enhanced Aqua Flow) makes these tires sure-footed in the wet and the ES (Enhanced Stability) System reduces localized flexing to really improve the grip, the stability and keep these tires running cool. Cobras also feature Avon’s new LPE (Lifetime Profile Engineering). The more-rounded profile of an Avon has always made Harleys feel light and nimble and with LPE that’s here for the life of the tire–which, by the way, can be pretty long.      Cruisers and tourers will find what they’re looking for, too. Avon’s Venoms are all-around performers and there are sizes and styles to suit every taste and riding style. Every Venom is a big improvement over stock, too. These Avons also feature that more-rounded profile for a noticeable improvement in handling. Just like those Cobras the Venoms make Harleys, especially the big touring models, feels lighter, easier to steer and almost effortless through the turns. Venoms are great in the wet, too; that Enhanced Aqua Flow is also found here. And even with a softer-than-stock compound that really grips, a Venom will wear like iron. Kept properly inflated these tires deliver thousands more miles than OE rubber. There are blackwalls, narrow whites, wide whites, sizes ranging from stock-replacement right up to a giant 330.
