enny Price has kept things hopping at Samson and the result should keep things hopping for you all throughout 2008. There’s lots that’s new at Samson this year. “The Godfather of Pipes” has not only opened up a brand-new facility devoted entirely to R&D and the production of new, limited-run custom exhaust systems, he’s already developed an impressive lineup of brand-new performance pipes all meeting those ever-escalating demands of government regulation while still delivering that called-for Samson style, sound and performance. Samson has won another battle on the legislative side of things, too. They’ve gained approval from the extremely stingy California Air Resources Board (CARB) to sell and install Samson exhausts as legal OEM direct replacements on bikes ranging from 2007 thru 2008. Also as OEM replacement for bikes from ‘95-2008 without Cats. This is a huge victory for dealers everywhere. And of course there’s all the new Samson pipes themselves, pipes coming in styles you’ve never seen before, in sizes you’ve never seen before and in brand-new finishes, too. Like we said, Kenny Price has kept things hopping.
Where do you start? How about with some of those new pipes for 2008, and the new finishes. The Samson Legend Series has been expanded to now include the “Sinister” Black Ceramic Pipes. These bad boys are going to have eyes popping. There’s a high-tech black ceramic coating here able to withstand temperatures up to 2,600-degrees.      And it looks great. That coating also works to keep the exhaust heat right inside the pipe where it can maximize performance. Full-coverage heat shields are part of the design and that overall black-ceramic coating will minimize corrosion assuring that the Sinister pipes look good for years to come. These are real performers, too. They feature stepped-headers, removable baffles and the sound, well, it’s pure Samson. And it’s all legal. These pipes also carry that CARB approval for installation on the newest model Harleys and they come ready for those new-model bikes and their fuel-injection systems, too, right out of the box. The O2 sensor ports are in place and accept factory or aftermarket sensors. Black is back, and on certain bikes in certain styles it’s just a killer look. The Samson Sinister Pipes, available in a number of styles for certain models and applications have that look–and lots more.
How about something shiny? Samson has plenty that’s new here, too. The brand new Caliber “True Duals” for instance. These classics are now available with either 3 1/2-inch or 4-inch tuned mufflers and they’re Calibers, four stepped-header beauties that are real performance pipes. They feature Samson’s exclusive patented Varitech baffle, they’re completely 2007-2008 model-year OEM replacement compatible and the finish will have people reaching for their sunglasses. The “Quad Chrome” plating is brilliant show quality. There’s the True Dual “Longtails,” too. The style here is nostalgia perfect, right back to that pair of sweeping Samson Fishtail tips. The sound is deep and booming and while the look is old-school these pipes are designed and tuned to deliver new-as-tomorrow performance. The Longtails are CARB approved, the O2 sensor ports are in place, and they’re ready for immediate installation on new bikes. Add a set of Longtails and a Softail never looked or sounded better.
All of this is just the beginning of what Samson has planned for 2008. That new 17,000 square foot R&D plant has been a beehive of activity lately. You know Samson. Your customers do, too. Samson has always been a big seller and a big hit with riders. Drag Specialties has always carried it all, too. Keep your eyes wide open this year. There’s plenty that’s new at Samson and there’s lots more to come. You’ll see it all here first.
