rian Klock is serious about that. The whole lineup of new Klock Werks fenders, now in the FatBook, is pure quality through-and-through. These fenders are all custom stamped from tough 14-gauge sheet metal, material that’s both thicker and stronger than the OE Harley-Davidson pieces they replace. They all come with an electrostatic “E-coating” to prevent corrosion, another first in the industry. And every Harley-Davidson mounting hole is already there, precision laser-cut in precisely the correct location. The seat tab, the shock mounts, everything’s ready to go. These are custom fenders that are direct bolt-ons. They take virtually no prep work. Some primer, a little block sanding and a topcoat is all it takes. Body shops love them. And the look, well, it’s completely “kustom.”
The Klock Werks fenders are perfectly formed and perfectly fitting “blank canvases” ready for a customizer to take to the next level. The rear fenders fit all Harley baggers from 1997 on, and the front fenders work on both the baggers and the Softails. There are lots of style choices, too. For the rears there’s a replacement-width fender for bikes keeping the stock-size tires and there’s a wide version for the MoTire 180-tire applications. Each is available in a 2-inch extended and a 6-inch extended version and with or without a frenched license-plate box that utilizes LED lighting. The front fenders, which also fit the Softails, are offered in a 16/18-inch size and a 21-inch size and there are seven different designs to fit every custom style. For those building a ground up bagger Klock Werks has fenders in the 200 tire size to fit Chopper Guys, Rolling Thunder, Daytec and any other aftermarket custom frame.
These fenders are going to be real time-savers in the shop. You can take any one of them and customize it as you please, either trimming or shaping it a little differently or mounting the taillight of your choice–and the fenders will accept them all, anything from a 1950 Pontiac taillight to a 1939 Ford teardrop to anything out of the FatBook–and then bring that fender right to your paint shop. All of the mounting holes are pre-drilled, you don’t have to take anyone’s bike apart to pre-fit anything. When these fenders come out of the paint shop they’re going to slip right in place, no ugly surprises. So if the painter takes four days or four months to get those parts back to you, you’re not the bad guy to your customer. He still has his bike. He’s still riding, he isn’t missing any Poker Runs, he isn’t missing any events. In one day you makeover his ride and your shop is the hero.
Here’s something else. When that rider takes his first spin around the block with the new Klock Werks fenders on he’s going to do more than just see the difference–chances are he’ll feel it, too. In a good way. These fenders are made from thick 14-gauge steel, remember, something especially important in the 6-inch extended and widened versions where lesser quality fenders tend to shake and wobble. And some riders had even reported that their bikes ride and handle better with the new Klock Werks front fender. It’s almost like mounting a fork brace, but a good looking one. The fenders are that strong. Check with your rep about all of this, and definitely check out the new Klock Werks fenders. Drag Specialties has them now.
