he’08 Harleys have new brakes. Most of the lineup now use Brembo brake calipers, and when teamed with DP Brake pads the result is considerably enhanced braking performance.
The Dynas, the touring models, the Softails–those Brembo calipers are on all of them. This is good news. The Brembo calipers are a real improvement. But these new Brembo brake calipers also require new and improved brake pads to go with them. The old-style Harley replacement pads no longer fit.
DP Brakes has those new brake pads and they’re a step up from OE in every area that counts. They’ll be introduced at the V-Twin Expo. These new DP pads are a lot more than just “OE replacements” too. The DP986s for the front and DP987s for the rear are a direct fit to the Brembo calipers, and just like those improved calipers they deliver a noticeable improvement to a Harley’s braking performance. Long recognized as the leader in sintered brake technology, DP Brakes brought sintered metal brake pads to the market and now has 30 years of experience and product evolution and development behind it. All that’s right here in the new brake pads for the Brembos.
Everything you’ve come to expect from DP is included in the new ‘08 Harley pads. There are excellent wear characteristics, the pads are durable, they’re reliable, the braking power is strong and fade-free and DP has virtually eliminated the noise and the dust. DP brake pads last up to three times longer than OE, too, and they’re completely non-abusive to the rotors. DP puts just the right amount of graphite into the compound, as well, so the pads are quieter than OE with virtually no squeal. There’s no mess to clean up, either. DP brake pads run virtually dust free. All that–and the outstanding DP fade-free performance–is what riders look for. It’s all here in the DP986 and DP987 pads for those new Harleys with their Brembo calipers. Drag Specialties will carry them.
