hey’re on this month’s FatBook Feature Bike and they’ll be on the cover of the new 2008 FatBook itself. The BUB 7 Exhausts are brand-new pipes named after the world’s fastest motorcycle and Denis Manning, the guy responsible for that record-setting streamliner and these new pipes didn’t miss a thing designing the new BUB 7 Exhausts. “They came from the notion that you can make something better than it has to be,” he says, and the BUB 7s are definitely that. They’re available in True Dual, 2-into-1, 2-into-2 and Slip-On configurations and there are applications for most everything in the Harley-Davidson lineup, Sportsters to Ultras. These are pipes you really have to see in person and hear for yourself. Pictures don’t do them justice; the quality is stunning and the sound will put a smile on your face.
These pipes are in stock now and they’ll be in the Drag Specialties booth at the Cincinnati show, mounted on motorcycles giving you the full picture. There’s a complete 2008 brochure available, too, with all the part numbers and retail prices. They’ll be available at the V-Twin Expo and at the Drag Specialties Event Trucks all season long. But do yourself and your customers a favor. Check out the BUB 7 exhausts up-close and in-person. These pipes deserve it.
Two years in development, the BUB 7 exhausts are produced using the latest, most advanced manufacturing processes and it shows. The quality is phenomenal. These pipes are even robotically polished, and the difference between this and standard hand-polishing, Manning says, is like the difference between night and day. A robot polishes each part exactly the same every time, uniformly polishing that part from one end to the other. The metal grain all flows in the same direction, too, and that robot consistently applies the correct amount of pressure during the entire process. That’s the sort of detail you can get with the BUB 7s.
Here’s some more. Every BUB 7 pipe has a uniquely beveled inlet for easy installation, and at the other end there’s an End Cap with a specially shaped internal taper. That End Cap taper handles sound waves in a completely new way and the result is less overall sound but with a lower, deeper rumble. All by themselves the End Caps enhance exhaust flow and that translates into horsepower. The BUB 7s have stepped headers, too, and dyno tests has shown these pipes to be real performers. There’s a new mounting system here, as well, an adjustable bracket that allows custom positioning of the pipes and it works with everything in the lineup, even the Slip-On mufflers. There’s full 220-degree heat shielding on all the pipes and of course oxygen-sensor ports are included so the BUB 7s are totally compatible with OEM or aftermarket closed-loop fuel management systems. The True Duals versions are available with or without a crossover, too. Another option.
Take a look at the BUB 7s. Look at them on this month’s Feature Bike and on the cover of the 2008 FatBook. But really make an effort to see them in person. You won’t be disappointed.
