You never know when you’ll get a rain shower (or worse) in the Upper Peninsula, so the sign-in and all the “vendor row” activities are held inside on Day 1.

Larry Mills (left) and Tim Meer of DP Brakes participate in as many Parts Unlimited events as they can. They are seen here “talking brakes.”

Another long-time participant and supporter of Parts Unlimited’s dealer rides is Doug Mueller of FMF.

Just part of the “Moose Gang” at the UP300. From left: Brad Kruckenberg, Kyle Phillips and Brandon Loveland.

Jeff Wells and Ray Karmansky from Supertrapp brought out their all-new Polaris RZR to try out the company’s exhaust application. I guess we can say it had so much power they couldn’t keep it on four wheels!

No Toil made the UP300 attendees earn their free hats at their booth.

Michelin's impromptu tire-mounting seminar drew a good size crowd.

Taking a break (from left): James Schuster from Pivot Works, Curtis Leaverton from Pivot Works, Justin Waterhouse from McGrath Motorsports, Joel Reno from Hawkeye Motorworks, Carl Magnussen from Parts Unlimited and Richard Johnson from Midwest Performance.

Aaron Branham from Cycra shows good form through the woods.

The rider issued “Numero Uno” for the 2007 UP300 was Steve Adams from Brothers Motorsports. The big #3 is his local racing number.

8X stands for 8 ISDE Gold Medals. Rider: Dick Burleson. Machine: KTM. Gear: Moose.

Richard Johnson of Midwest Performance sails off a rock.

Good grief! Don’t try this at home…or anywhere your four-wheeler is wider than the bridge. A double-warning when there is water under that bridge!

Michael Frankini from U.P. Cycle & Sport carves his way through the trees on a single-track section.

Suzuki rider Paul Lemon II of Lemon & Barretts.

Ken Jolin from Hodag Honda was one of many ATV riders in the UP300 this year.

Tim Shephard of Lancaster Sport Cycles leads Iron Pony Motorsports’ William Kottyen and Landcaster Sportcycles’ Tom Parfitt along the route.

Parts Unlimited’s own VP of sales Greg Blackwell cuts a trail through the woods.

Mike McKillip of Mike’s Engine Works enjoys the UP countryside.

David Rock from U.P. Cycle & Sport zig-zags through the trees.

Justin Waterhouse from McGrath Motorsports in the rock section.

Andy Stacy from Tuf Powersports jumps some tree roots on his Kawasaki.

KTM-mounted Gary Virgin from the Superbike Shop heads up a single-track trail.

When Rob Buydos speaks people listen!

Parts Unlimited’s Boo Suber (left) thanks Nick Zambon of the Sandstormers Motorcycle Club for the great job they did helping put the UP300 ride on.

And Trail Boss Dick Burleson of Moose Racing knows he wouldn’t have a UP300 ride if it weren’t for the behind-the-scenes support from Parts Unlimited’s Kathy Sommervold and Lisa Reif.

Remember that little “tip-over” we showed on page 60? Rob Buydos (left) definitely did and he made sure everyone at the banquet did too. Jeff Wells (middle) did his best to play it down, but the crowd didn’t buy it. He and Supertrapp associate Ray Karmansky were awarded the “Yooper Award” for the most newsworthy incident of the ride.

As they always do at the UP300, Moose Racing kicked in $1,000 to the Marquette County Search and Rescue fund as a “thank you” for their great work throughout the year.

Since the UP300 was started, the Sandstormers Motorcycle Club has provided immeasurable amounts of support to the event from laying out the trail routes to serving as guides and setting up the other necessary logistics.

The UP300 is, as they say on TV, “Brought to you by…” these generous sponsors.
