lloy Art likes to stay on the cutting edge of technology when it comes to designing and creating new products for your custom Harley-Davidson. At Alloy Art, they don’t just create good looking parts, but design, test and produce products that can actually enhance the performance of your machine.
Drag Specialties dealers have had great success with Alloy Art’s Touring XR Stabilizer for Harley-Davidsons. Made with CNC machined 6061 T-6 aluminum components, with a black anodized or polished finish, features include an adjustable intermediate member with integrated patented Gooden-Tite polyurethane and aluminum isolator bushings, and stainless steel hardware. The Touring XR Stabilizer improves handling by triangulating the motor and transmission in the chassis. The Touring XR Stabilizer helps eliminate frame wobble at high speeds, or while cornering. And, installation is an easy bolt-on process.
Another handling enhancement offered by Alloy Art is the new Tri-Link Front Motor Stabilizer. James Crosby came up with the idea of the Tri-Link on the way home from Sturgis in 2007. “The Touring XR Stabilizer took care of the main all around problem with the base and rear of the frame, tranny and swing-arm,” says James. “But, some customers had asked about the lightness and floating feeling in the front end on their machines.”
So on the way home from Sturgis, Crosby held his hand against the cylinder heads near the top of the motor. He felt the motor moving left to right on the top half of the motor. With the bottom and rear of the frame and motor being stabilized by the Touring XR Stabilizer, something was needed to take care of the “side to side” movement on the front top half of the motor. He took the intermediate member from the Touring XR Stabilizer held it up in the front of the bike between the down tubes and discovered it would fit perfectly with really good solid mounting locations on both the frame and motor. The intermediate member controls the top half of the motor’s movement linearly with the frame (north/south) instead of side to side. Testing and development began immediately and it worked almost perfectly, offering improved handling and response time.
The Tri-Link Front Motor Stabilizer features CNC machined aluminum components, with grade 8 and stainless hardware and a black anodized or polished finish. It’s designed to stabilize the front of the motor by triangulating the motor in the front of the chassis and also helps eliminate premature front motor mount deterioration.
There are many other great products from Alloy Art like their Strut Lights for new model Dynas offered with red, amber, or smoke lenses. Alloy Art’s lights have a three-year warranty on the electronics. Alloy Art’s LED’s have a 70-degree visual range, and are also 65% brighter than standard LED’s.
