![]() 2007 has been an up and down year around the country. What with $3 a gallon gas prices, monsoon rains, tornados and wars to fight, life is just not normal right now. Some regions have fared better than others, but one product that is selling well from coast to coast is the above-mentioned Yamaha Rhino. And who is surprised? We all know how much fun an ATV is, so set one up so you can have a buddy riding alongside and you’ve got a real winner. Obviously Yamaha has company for that business from all of its regular competitors so this will surely remain a hotly contested market for quite a while. This is our annual ATV, UTV and Snowmobile issue and you’ll find not only Part III of our Project Rhino series, but a neat “Before & After” ATV project. In the Woods Warrior story on page 38, see how a pretty trashed out 1987 Yamaha Warrior was given a new life via the pages of the Parts Unlimited catalog. Speaking of projects, we see lots of projects and “build-offs” on television nowadays, and we’ve got a story in this issue about The Englehart Center in Madison, WI. This dealership had also seen those TV shows and decided to do a build-off of their own. Check it out on page 64 to see how great their two projects turned out. The motorcycle racing season is about half way over, so in this issue you’ll find recaps of numerous off-road championships that are underway. A lot of our Moose and Thor-sponsored riders are right in the chase for a #1 plate, so we’re rooting for them to have a great second half of the year. Last, but not least, it’s been a fast moving year and before we know it the snow will be flying and the snowmobile riders will be loading up their sleds. You guys in that business know well that now is the time to get them fitted up with their gear for the coming season. Don’t forget that the 2007 snow season ran long, so a lot of your snow customers will be needing to get restocked for the year ahead. Whether it’s for two wheels, four wheels or snowtracks, happy selling! Ride safe, |
