t’s official. Dynas from 1999 on right up to the latest 2007s and all those rubber-mount Sportsters, the ‘04s to the newest XLs, can now have the newest-model Rinehart Racing 2-into-2 pipes, too. The application list for the Rinehart by Bub Cross-Back has just been expanded and all those pipes in all those applications, along with the original Cross-Back systems for the Softails introduced a few months ago, are in-stock now.
The Cross-Back is one wickedly cool set of twisted-up custom pipes and it’s genuine Rinehart. That means there’s power and performance galore to go with this custom-cool look. And in a first from Rinehart and Drag Specialties, the exclusive source for all this, these pipes come supplied with two sets of baffles packed in the box. Optimum performance is assured in every application. There are 2-inch OD baffles for use with engines up to 96 cubic inches and there’s a set of 2 1/4-inch baffles also supplied for when the Cross-Backs are going on larger displacement engines or heavily modified 95s. This interchangeable baffle option is something brand-new from Rinehart Racing and Drag Specialties. One set of pipes comes with two sets of baffles to suit all applications and installations.
And the options don’t stop there. Two more baffle sets are offered for the Cross-Back, both so new they’re not even listed in the catalog. Motorcycle exhaust noise has become a hot-button issue and Rinehart by Bub has responded with two more sets of accessory “Quiet Baffles” for the Cross-Backs. The Quiet Baffles effectively cut the sound without cutting power or any of that signature Rinehart tone. It’s the best of both worlds. There are separate part numbers for these optional Quiet Baffles. For the Flush Model Cross-Back it’s #1861-0357 and for the Staggereds it’s #1861-0358.
The Cross-Back 2-into-2 is offered in two styles and two finishes for all the applications, Softail, Dyna and XL. There are Flush- and Staggered Tip styles and there’s a choice of chrome headers, heat shields and mufflers matched with black anodized end caps or you can get black headers and mufflers accented with chrome heat shields and end caps. Either way those 2 1/2-inch mufflers merge flush with the heat shields for a smooth, unbroken look port to tip. It’s exactly the sort of quality and attention to detail you’d expect from Rinehart Racing by Bub. As a final touch the Rinehart Racing logo is laser-cut into the front heat shield.
Like every Rinehart Racing exhaust the Cross-Backs can significantly increase torque and horsepower across the board, and sound great doing it. The Cross-Back 2-into-2 features that Rinehart Racing three-step header design, a power-producing technique others have copied but never duplicated. Of course the Cross-Back comes with all required mounting hardware and brackets, and to make installation simple on the ‘06 and later bikes with their closed-loop FI systems and oxygen sensors there are O2 sensor ports right there in the required locations. The Cross-Back 2-into-2–in all the applications, Softails, Dynas and Sportsters–is available now. Talk to your Drag Specialties rep today for more information. |
