rom the streets–for the streets” is more than just a tag line; it is the embodiment of everything Icon makes for street riders. That’s what Icon motorcycle gear is all about. Pure performance for real world situations. Icon motorcycle gear is about stoplight-to-stoplight, corner-to-corner, here to there riding. That’s what drives Icon to create the most innovative motorcycle gear available for street riding. It’s what gets Icon motorcycle gear designers out of bed in the morning and keeps them up at night, it’s what they do, and it’s who they are. Team No Limit’s Eric Hoenshell is a big part of Icon’s research & development and he may possibly be the best street freestyle rider in the U.S.

Parts Magazine: Tell us about your relationship with Icon.
Eric: “I have been with Icon for 4 years now and it’s not even like a sponsorship anymore, it’s more like family, everyone is so good to me.”

PM: How important is safety gear for street freestyle?
Eric: “Well, let me put it this way; about two months ago I flipped an endo at about 60 miles per hour and smacked my face. If I was not wearing my Icon gear I might not be here today. Wearing my Icon gear is my top priority–I never ride without it.”

PM: How did you get started in this sport?
Eric: “Well, my mom and dad bought my first street bike (R6) in 2002 and I didn’t do anything on it for about five months. Then one night I was out riding with some friends, they were all doing wheelies and stuff, I thought it was the coolest thing, so for the next three months I practiced every day, and got better and better. I realized this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.”

PM: What’s your favorite thing about what you do?
Eric: “Doing shows for all the little kids and fans. When I see the smiles on all the faces it makes me love what I do.”

PM: What’s your biggest accomplishment and what are your goals for the future?
Eric: “My biggest accomplishments are riding in France and Japan. I never would have thought I’d ever go to another country. My goals are to keep doing shows and to ride my bike full time, it’s the only thing that makes me happy.”

PM: What does the future of street freestyle look like through your eyes?
Eric: “I want to see it in the X Games!”

PM: Anything you’ve always wanted to say or be asked in an interview?
Eric: “I just want to say thank you to my family, fans, and sponsors, I’m only here because all of you believe in me so thank you very much!”

Eric can be seen performing at street freestyle shows and competitions around the country and on Team No Limit videos. The full line of Icon riding gear is available through your Parts Unlimited representative.
