he 2007 Daytona 200 cemented it. When Steve Rapp crossed the finish line first he did it wearing an AGV helmet. AGV is back in the spotlight, once again sponsoring riders in the United States. That AGV commitment and presence is growing, too.
Along with the Daytona winner the 2007 AGV Team for the U.S. includes an impressive lineup of riders and racers. Along with Steve Rapp there’s Kurtis Roberts now, too, whose dad, “King Kenny” wore AGV in his heyday, and as a real crowd favorite on the roadracing circuits there’s also Jessica Zalusky who’s right in there mixing it up good with the big boys in AMA Supersport and Formula Xtreme. AGV has
teamed up with some of the youngest hard chargers, as well.
Two of the Cool Skunk Kids, James “The Rocket” Rispoli and Cody Johncox are set up with AGV again this year, as well, and in their XR2s these guys are hot.
“The Rocket” alone posted eight National Short Track Titles, 10 National podiums and two Overall      Championships during Bike Week 2007…all the while wearing AGV. Steve Rapp’s win in the Daytona 200 is the first time in recent history an AGV-sponsored rider was first to the checkered in that storied race. Rapp’s win was doubly sweet for AGV, too, because this team-up with Steve Rapp was one of the last sponsorship deals AGV’s Marcel Fortney put together before his untimely passing. The Daytona win was a
sentimental victory all around, to be sure.
And AGV is looking for even more. It can start with Laguna Seca. An AMA and MotoGP weekend in Northern California is always exciting, especially so for dealers now that AGV is back in
U.S. racing. The traditional dinner with Valentino Rossi is on that California calendar, too. This gala, invitation-only affair has lucky dealers and reps flown in for the event, put up in a fine hotel, privately bussed to the track for that fully catered evening with AGV’s shining star of MotoGP and then given the VIP treatment for the weekend–including full passes to the USGP complete with paddock and pit access. What a way to go to a race! Check with your rep for more details.
And check the race reports that’ll be coming in all year long. AGV is once again a major presence on tracks throughout the country and it’ll all be on agv.com. It started in Daytona, it’ll continue at Laguna Seca and build from there. And at every track, race and event those AGV Ti-Tech helmets, the winner’s choice, will be in the spotlight. The Ti-Tech is AGV’s most advanced helmet yet. It’s a racer’s favorite. Computer
developed and wind-tunnel tested, this ultra-lightweight composite helmet slices through the air. The Ti-Tech isn’t just for the track, either. This helmet’s innovative ventilation system makes it a savvy street rider’s top-shelf pick. Fresh air is continually channeled throughout the Ti-Tech, even directed up onto the interior of the face shield to eliminate fogging.
It’s lightweight, it’s aerodynamic and it comes with unparalleled ventilation. A Ti- Tech is a standout on the track and on the street. For ‘07 there will be more of them than ever on U.S. tracks, and what wins on
the track sells for the street. Check with your rep on that, too. The complete AGV helmet lineup, including that Ti-Tech, is available from Parts Unlimited.
