Rob Zimmerman is the current champion in the Pro ATV class and has quite a battle on his hands to defend that title this season.

he Parts Unlimited OMA Nationals series completed round two of their ten race series Sunday April 22nd near Decatur, Arkansas. Round one was held near Short Creek, Kentucky on March 17th and 18th. Hundreds of amateur and professional racers compete in the series which features old school natural terrain racing.
Both rounds of the Pro ATV class have been Moose Racing podium sweeps. Andy Lagzdins triumphed over Series Champion Rob Zimmerman and Derrick Schrock in Kentucky and repeated in Arkansas. Schrock had a great holeshot at round one, and he claimed a $250 holeshot bonus for his efforts at the round two event. Lagzdins made up his time in the woods at both events and has proven to be a strong contender in the series. Zimmerman and the others will have a tough season ahead now that Lagzdins has decided to run the season on a regular basis.
Three-time Series Champion Jimmy Jarrett placed third in the motorcycle event at round one and came to round two ready for a win. Jarrett kept his Moose Racing FMF Suzuki ahead of Adam Bonneur’s Fun Mart Yamaha to capture the $1000 holeshot bonus and set the tone for the day. Jarrett had a minor run off course early in the race when he missed an arrow, but he recovered to pass Bonneur and re-take the lead before the end of lap one. The first six laps held a $100 leader bonus each and Jarrett captured all of them. Jason Thomas put his Fun Mart Yamaha across the line in second place after eight laps and 2 1/2 hours of racing. Privateer Josh Weisenfelt battled Brian Garrahan to the last corner and narrowly captured third place with Bonneur rounding out the all Moose Gear-attired top five.
The OMA Nationals Parts Unlimited series promotes classic single track woods racing and features an international group of pro racers at ten different venues around the Midwest. Major sponsorship funding is provided by Moose Racing and Parts Unlimited and the series winner receives a $10,000 check from Parts Unlimited at the end of the year. Moose Racing’s Jimmy Jarrett has won the series for three consecutive years, and he is looking to defend his title again this year against a stellar group of competitors. Bill Gusse and his OMA Nationals team provide a unique, natural terrain racing experience to those who are tough enough for the challenge. This is off-road racing. Look for more OMA Series updates in future issues.
