oy, this year is really flying by! At press time, we are already well more than half-way through the 2007 Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross season, and there has been some great racing action so far. Anaheim II marked the first race without Ricky Carmichael, as he began his “part-time” Supercross schedule in preparation for the upcoming start of his stock-car racing career. It’s really just not the same without RC out there mixing it up, but hopefully we’ll still see some good battles out on the track.
Chad Reed has been keeping up his consistency this season, with podium finishes at every race, including an impressive win in San Diego.
Ryan Villopoto was the breakout star this season, winning every race in the Lites West division but one, and capturing the AMA Supercross Lites West Championship in San Diego with one race left in the series. The young Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider will be back for the Seattle Supercross and the East/West Shootout in Las Vegas in May.
Parts Unlimited is seeing plenty of action, both on and off the track. Check out a few of the highlights from the middle part of the season–Anaheim II through Indianapolis…
