eMans Corporation has announced that Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties will be teaming up to host 11 “Super Showcases” in as many major Powersports markets across the United States for the second year in a row.
The objective of the Super Showcases is to host an exhibit for dealers that will provide nearly 50 of the industry’s leading vendors from all sides of the market and will focus on all aspects of the business. New products ranging from ATV, Street, V-twin, Off-road and more will be on display as well as knowledgeable representatives at each event.
Parts Unlimited’s and Drag Specialties’ elite vendors from all sides of the market will utilize 15,000 to 20,000 square feet for the Super Showcase showroom. Each vendor will have one to two representatives on hand to discuss brand awareness, as well as information about new products. This will be the perfect opportunity for dealers to network one on one with vendors. Participating dealers will have the advantage to walk away with important information on new products, pick up some free gifts, hear new selling ideas and get answers to any questions they may have.
Each Super Showcase will begin with a buffet style dinner followed by light entertainment which includes product giveaways, industry and vendor personnel interviews. After dinner, dealers are invited to walk around the showroom and discuss products and business with the vendors.
Dealers interested in participating should contact your Parts Unlimited or Drag Specialties sales rep for signup details and a 2007 Super Showcase schedule.

t is often said that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. If ever there was an exception to the rule it would be Trevor Vines. “Trevor from Wherever” is one of the pioneers of Freestyle Motocross, but was somewhat forced into retirement when the back flip was invented (he wasn’t doing it). Now in his mid-thirties, the Ohio native has added the trick to his repertoire and is now busting it out on the Monster Jam Tour all over the country, recently flipping over a seventy-five foot gap. Go Trevor!
Trevor Vines is sponsored by Parts Unlimited, Thor, Z1R, Alpinestars and numerous other Parts Unlimited vendors.

hen it comes to Canadian cities, Montreal is legendary for its European flavor. The city is also known for having an “electric-air” feel, generating excitement in anyone that visits. What better place to talk to the folks from Parts Canada about their exciting plans for 2007? While thousands of motorcycle-crazed French-Canadians prowled the Montreal Motorcycle Show, we snuck in a chance to talk to Parts Canada’s Marketing Coordinator Shauna Szewczuk about their plans for the upcoming season.
"The biggest up and coming thing this year is the Parts Canada Superbike Series,” says Shauna. “The opening round will take place in Mount Tremblant this year, as opposed to Shannonville. We are also having a double round this year in Calgary Alberta. This is great for the Western amateurs coming out, because it will cut the cost down a bit by having two rounds in one.”
Parts Canada isn’t only about roadracing, and the quarter-mile crowd gets their fair share of attention. “The biggest round is the August 25th round at Grand Bend Motorplex,” explained Shauna. “We’ve got the top guys from the States coming up to compete against the top Canadians. They are calling for over 100,000 spectators at that round, so we are very excited about that.”
Of course, Parts Canada supported riders need to look professional. “We’ve just signed Brett McCormick to ride in our gear this year,” says Shauna. “We’ve signed Francis Martin as well, and we have some of the new up and coming guys. Stephane Chabot, who won the HJC rookie of the year award last year, and Catherine Nadeau, who won the woman’s cup. We have riders in every class.”
She went on to say, “We are working at getting a stunt team here in Canada, in Icon, so things are looking promising for us.” Promising for sure, 2007 looks like another strong year for Parts Canada.

his year’s Off-Road Rally in Olympia Washington was the best attended in state history. Promoted by enthusiasts groups like WOHVA and the NMA, enthusiast clubs such as the Stumpjumpers and many others, the state dealer’s association (WSMDA), industry staff such as Parts Unlimited’s Ron Johnson, Dave York, Ryan Heymans and Max Martin, and hundreds of just plain folks, this year’s rally received tremendous coverage in the media, including newspapers, TV, and hours of coverage on local talk shows.
The catalyst for the rally this year was SB5544, an “anti-noise” bill that was in fact a pretty crude attempt at banning all off-road motorcycles and ATVs. It has been defeated – for this year.
Hundreds of motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts as well as industry personnel gathered in Olympia to voice their opposition to some pending legislation. But the spirit of the American Right of Free Speech prevailed and the bill was defeated.
