lobal warming is a popular and confusing issue in the world toady. Is the earth getting hotter and somehow that might lead us into another ice age? All we know for certain is that it rains a lot in the month of April and dealers should be stocking the best cold weather rain wear for the early riding season.
Moose Racing has several choices beginning with the Monarch Pass line of cold weather riding gear. Monarch Pass offers a medium weight jacket, pant, jersey, and glove that are the ultimate combination for the nastiest riding conditions. But the jacket and pant also works well in all weather conditions because of the high tech eVent shell fabric. This is the same fabric used in many high-end climbers’ jackets. The patented eVent fabric features a 100% waterproof outer-layer with a sweat wicking breathable inner layer, which reduces overheating and keeps the rider dryer for an extended comfort range under wet and dry conditions.
The Monarch Pass pant features a leather panel on the inner right knee to shield against hot exhaust pipes and the pant fit is generously cut for a comfortable ride. The over-the-boot design with adjustable pant cuff is also great added value.
The Monarch Pass glove features a medium weight fleece lining which is perfect for those cold dual-sport riding days. The extended zip-off cuff is also a great added value to keep the wind, rain, and mud from entering the jacket cuff.
Also from Moose Racing is the Expedition line, Moose’s most versatile gear with zip-off sleeves for the quickest wide-open venting you can get. When it is time for a pit-stop or break you can zip the sleeves back on to reduce that post ride chill. The pant features a leather panel on the inner right knee to shield against hot exhaust pipes and the pant fit is generous for a comfortable ride.
The popular XCR Jacket is built with the racer in mind, featuring a medium weight shell with key durability features needed in a racing environment. There are multiple, adjustable vents to let the heat out when body temperatures rise. Plus, there are reinforced high-abrasion areas in the shoulder and elbow areas for added strength and protection while still allowing for mobility.
The M1 Vest is another favorite as it can be used as a great second layer for those early morning starts when a jacket is just too much. Wind blocker nylon fabric on the front shields cold wind, but the fleece on the back lets the body shed any unwanted heat. Plus the vest style gives arms the freedom they need while riding aggressively.
The Moose Quick Coat is just the basic essentials as the name implies. The Quick Coat is an easy second layer to throw on if the need arises for a lightweight and contour fitting rain repellent coat. Features include elastic trim to hug the wrists, neck, and seat area and an adjustable zipper vent out the rear to expel any heat build-up.
The Mud Coat is perfect for strolling around the pits and for watching a race in the rain. A pull-string adjustable hood, adjustable cuff, armpit porthole vents and cargo pockets are a great added value.
Plus, a Moose Racing original, all Monarch Pass, Expedition and XCR jackets feature a self-containing pocket to convert the jacket into a pack with straps to wear around the waist when not in use.
Moose Racing gear is designed, tested and used by some of the greatest off-road racers on the planet. Just ask multi-time World Enduro, ISDE, Last Man Standing, and Endurocross champion David Knight who is coming to race the GNCC series in 2007 under the Moose banner.
So, with or without global warming, we all know the early riding season is coming with a lot of rain. See your Parts Unlimited sales representative and be ready with Moose Racing’s line of rain and cold weather riding gear.
