rrrrrr! Yes, it was cold outside the Indiana Convention Center during this year’s Dealernews Expo at Indianapolis, but inside the action was hot and heavy. While there was some debate whether this year’s attendance was up or down from previous years, the importance of the annual trade show guarantees as many quality retailers in the house that any exhibitor could easily handle.
Here’s a quick look at some of the highlights of this year’s show.

Motorcycle Industry Council President Tim Buche (left) and Board Chairman and Cycle World Publisher Larry Little presented an award to Secretary of Transportation Mary Peters following her talk at the MIC’s Annual Meeting. Peters, an active motorcycle rider, shared her experience of a motorcycle crash and praised the effectiveness of helmets.

LeMans Chairman Fred Fox received the Motorcycle Industry Council Chairman’s Award from Larry Little for his many years of service on the MIC Board of Directors. He announced late last year that he was stepping down from the board after 13 years to allow other MIC members a chance to participate.

And everyone also wants to know when Travis Pastrana is going to try a triple back flip!

Bub Enterprises’ world record-setting #7 streamliner was on display at the show. What everyone wants to know is: What’s it like to ride a motorcycle at 350 miles an hour?

Moose displayed Team Babbitt’s Kawasaki KX250F ridden to the 2007 Boo Koo Arenacross championship by Darcy Lange.

This ultra-cool Ducati (yes, Ducati) got lots of attention in the Avon Tyres booth. It was built by customizer Brian Johnson of Altered Chrome.

Freestyle street rider Jason Britten’s popularity grows continually. Here he signs a poster for a young fan.

ne of the highlights of the Indy Show weekend for off-road enthusiasts is the Breakfast of Champions, a fun-filled breakfast featuring numerous motorcycle racing legends in attendance, on-going interviews and a fund-raising auction of some very unique motorcycle memorabilia.

Tom White, co-founder of White Brothers (and avid motocross memorabilia collector), beams after having won the auction bid for a one-of-a-kind Roger DeCoster cap that had been previously autographed by Roger to Bob Hannah.
