MF likes to stay on the leading edge of the industry. Right now, riding areas, tracks and the AMA are calling for “less sound, more ground.” But your customers are still interested most in power and weight savings. So FMF and Parts Unlimited got together to give everyone what they wanted; less sound, more power and reduced weight with the creation of the FMF Speed Pipe.
     The innovative Speed Pipe is a Parts Unlimited distributor exclusive. It’s a combined effort by these two leaders in the industry, and industry enthusiasm, to offer a highly competitive yet increasingly noise sensitive product for the racing market. Taking what was learned from the highly successful Ti-Powercore line of FMF exhaust, the internals of the Speed muffler exhibit additional attention to ‘power without sound.’ Speed mufflers proactively address the much talked about 99-decibel AMA Supercross sound limits, measuring one full decibel under this pending new standard already on average. Parts Unlimited and FMF chose to follow the ‘be prepared’ mantra when deciding on this product segment and raised the bar preemptively. So, “We Support the Sport” (Parts Unlimited motto) and “Feel the Power” (FMF motto) come together to the great benefit of dealers and consumers alike.
     The technology is there for the Speed pipe and so are the materials. Working with new manufacturing processes, FMF developed this combination of high-grade stainless steel, aluminum and other exotic materials to maximize performance, minimize weight and keep the sound down. As an added bonus a spark arrestor insert is included, as well as trick machined and anodized solid mounts and of course FMF’s usual ‘easy to re-pack’ fasteners and features. Just in case a rider needs more ‘quiet,’ there are also quiet inserts available for the Speed mufflers.
     With a new look, new (less) sound and a great price, these slip-ons are available now for all current and many non-current model 250 and 450 four-stroke MX bikes, many off-road models and of course the TRX, YFZ and LT-R quads. Many riders choose to run just a slip-on but if a full system is desired, the Speed slip-ons fit right up to FMF’s Powerbomb or Megabomb headers.
