ne new number, D745, now replaces three sizes of the popular D739, that Dunlop Medium/Hard Terrain tire that’s been so popular for so long. Stocking Dunlop couldn’t be any easier. With the new D745 it isn’t just the inventory and ordering that gets better, though. The D745 is a brand-new tire coming with a host of brand-new features. It’s all aimed at making this the most popular Medium/Hard Terrain tire you’ll sell. The D739 was a heck of a tire. The newest Dunlop, the D745, is even better.
Along with replacing those three sizes of the popular D739 the new D745 fills those slots on the rack with a brand-new and innovative carcass design and a brand-new tread pattern to go with it. The Dunlop D745 was designed especially for riders consistently hitting it hard and looking for that perfect tire combination in the medium-to-hard terrain conditions. The D745 was built to deliver.
Start with the D745’s new tread pattern. There’s enhanced and definitely impressive cornering grip here and that’s coupled with equally impressive slide control, especially on hard surfaces. The D745’s new and innovative carcass construction gives this newest Dunlop excellent stability and impact damping, too, both huge plusses in that medium/hard terrain running. There’s a new low-aspect-ratio sizing, as well. This brings the benefit of a wider tire for a bigger footprint and greatly improved traction. All of this adds up to a giant plus on the medium/hard stuff.
Here are the sizes and specs on the new D745. There’s an 80/100-21 front (this one replaces the D739 80/100-21) and there’s a 90/100-21front offered, too. For the rear there’s a 110/80-19 D745 (replacing the D739 100/90-190) and there’s also a 120/80-19 (replacing the D739 110/90-19). Those are the sizes available right now. A pair of 18-inch D745s are on the way.
The old D739 delivered great performance in hard-pack conditions. There was an improved cornering grip in all terrains, too, soft, intermediate and hard. The new lower-aspect-ratio D745 takes that already-proven Dunlop performance even further. The D745’s performance bump should come as no surprise, though. With more than a hundred National Championships to its name no other tire manufacturer comes close to matching Dunlop’s success in the dirt. Add to that yet another Baja 1000 win, even more desert-racing titles and just a slew of AMA Amateur National Championships at the latest Loretta Lynn’s and it’s clear to see where the dirt-riding advantage lies. It’s with Dunlop, the only tire manufacturer to produce motorcycle tires right here in the U.S.
The D745 for Medium/Hard Terrain is the latest addition to this winning legacy. It’s available now.
