f you’ve never ridden with a Danny Gray seat, or if you’ve never seen one first hand, there’s no way you can appreciate what’s going on here. Pictures won’t tell you that these seats are completely different than anything else available. A Danny Gray seat is so sleek, so tight-fitting and with a style so all its own it’s been the pro’s choice for decades. How these seats so perfectly hug the frame is unique to a Danny Gray design, and even the thinnest Danny Gray solo is built comfortably. We’re talking form, fit and function here and don’t let that high-end Danny Gray reputation scare you off. The Danny Gray seats are in the FatBook, and there are plenty of them, all competitively priced.
The only way you’re going to see all this for yourself is to get some Danny Gray seats in your store. Put some in the store and put one on a bike. Compare it with everything else available. It won’t matter which seat you get or what style you choose. The FatBook has a full selection, two-up or solo, so there are plenty to pick from. For an initial impression a Danny Gray Softail solo will be fine. It’ll be the least expensive buy-in and it’ll give you and your customers all the touchy-feely info you’ll need to see the Danny Gray difference. That Softail solo will be super-easy to sell, too. Guaranteed, you won’t keep this one in inventory for long.
Danny Gray, widely recognized as the purveyor of premier seats for 35 years and once the best-kept secret in the custom world has seats for virtually every model Harley and they’re all in the FatBook. Softails, Dynas, FLs, Sportsters; they’re all available exclusively through Drag Specialties. There are solos like the Buttcrack, Short Hop and Long Haul. There are two-ups like the Weekday, a Short Hop and Long Haul two-up, the Backup and the Inflator with its “Airhawk Dry Flotation” for comfort, support and perfect body positioning. And just released for the dressers there’s the Danny Gray BigSeat, with an optional backrest. This one is going to be really popular. The BigSeat System is available for all ‘07 Harleys (except V-Rod) and allows the rider to literally create a perfect fit every time they ride. Deep double-bucket solo seats, wide hip flairs, narrow-cut leg passes plus multiple backrest and passenger pillion options all offered in two different styles make the BigSeat an ideal replacement. It’ll address the widest range of riding conditions, passenger requirements, styling considerations and minimize your inventory doing it. And speaking of style options, every Danny Gray seat is available with Plain, Flame Stitch, Mantis Stitch or Double Stitch coverings and those coverings are 100-percent top grain leather. The leather on a Danny Gray seat breathes, wicks away moisture and holds its shape far better than any other material, with a unique manufacturing process that cinches down on the leather cover as it’s pulled over the foam and attached to the underside of the seat pan. The prices for all this will surprise you. It all begins at well under $300.
For more than three decades the best-known builders have relied on Danny Gray for the finishing touch. That touch is in the FatBook, but don’t leave it there. There are special “Point of Purchase” displays available now, too. They’ll showcase that BigSeat System in a minimal footprint and they’re free to dealers with a minimum initial order. Ask your rep for the details on this and a special incentive program that includes a drawing to be Danny’s guest at his Deadwood Roadhouse for a few days of riding in the Black Hills. On Danny Gray seats, of course.
