hen the doors opened for the 1st V-Twin Expo back in 2001, many wondered whether the industry could support a show devoted 100% to V-twin motorcycles. That question has long since faded away and this past February, the V-Twin Expo in Cincinnati continued to build on its legacy. Attendance was very strong this year, despite the ultra cold weather conditions that could easily have convinced at least a few drive-in attendees to think twice about their travel plans.
Highlights of this year’s show included the exhibit by Drag Specialties of its very latest FatBook project bikes, plus the Bub streamliner and the world’s fastest motorcycle rider Chris Carr with builder Denis Manning and others from the Bub team.

The V-Many of Drag’s most recently completed FatBook bikes were on display at Cincinnati. Watch for them in upcoming issues of Drag Specialties Magazine.
Chris Carr (left) was on hand all weekend to sign autographs and answer questions. Most asked question was: “What’s it like to go 350 miles per hour?”
Michelle Smith of Speed Channel’s “American Thunder” was in the building, interviewing John Potts of Vance & Hines and others for her next show.
Veteran builder Jerry Covington brought his new FatBook project. It will be featured in our May issue with the full pictorial and build list. It’s one hot bike, so don’t miss it.
Brothers Ted (left) and Perry Sands of Performance Machine always have a show exhibit full of cool customs and hot new products.
Our Editor Jen Emde saddles up on the Samson “Cholo” custom bike that was on display along with plenty of props to get the true flavor of this style machine.
The all-new S&S X-Wedge engine attracted all kinds of attention at the show.

All the This group got the award for showing the best Superbowl Spirit. Nobody else was even close.

Drag doesn’t give out cheap little door prizes. Ask Frank Anastasi of West Side Cycle who took home this great Icon jacket.
A winning raffle number got Chad Bedard of the Barn Bike Shop a chance to be on Chris Carr’s pit crew at the upcoming Daytona Short Track. Rob Buydos (left) introduces Chris to his new assistant.
An early Chicago score got the Bears fans revved up.

With just seconds to play, the tide had turned..
