o most people it’s just a road, a strip of asphalt, a way to get from here to there. To Icon, the streets of America represent freedom. They are the facilitators of our gasoline-powered lifestyle. “From the streets–For the streets” is more than just a tag line–it is the embodiment of everything Icon makes for street riders. That’s what Icon motorcycle gear is all about. Pure performance for real world situations. Icon motorcycle gear is all about stoplight to stoplight, corner to corner, here to there riding. That’s it. Straight up. And that’s what drives Icon to create the most innovative motorcycle gear available for street riding. It’s what gets Icon motorcycle gear designers out of bed in the morning and keeps them up at night, it’s what they do, and it’s who they are. Team No Limit’s master stunt-rider Jason Britton, the host of Speed Channel’s SuperBikes, is a big part of Icon research & development. Just watch the show to see a lot of Icon gear in action.
When it comes to performance, Icon is all about riding the street and this gear is designed for the ultimate protection from the asphalt. The leather jackets are made from heavy leather that does not scratch or tear under tough street riding conditions. The textile jackets are tough enough to withstand long slides on the pavement without ripping or wearing thin and have armor for impact protection.
For 2007 Icon has just introduced a new leather jacket with the popular “Battlecry” logo. The Battlecry will have all the same great features, bells and whistles as Icon’s other great leather coats and will come with a suggested retail of $600. And for those who want the Battlecry without the leather, Icon also offers the new mesh Battlecry for $180.
When you see the new Battlecry jackets from Icon you’ll want to stock up because you know your customers are going to want them, as well as the other Icon products in your dealership. See your Parts Unlimited rep today for the lowdown on the entire line from Icon.
his December, Icon wrapped up a 19-city tour of America. In what they called “The Icon Experience,” the Icon marketing staff traveled from city to city in an effort to educate and bring a better understanding of Icon apparel to dealers across the country. In classic Icon style, these were NOT your typical dealer education seminars! Each Icon Experience was held at an area movie theater, allowing Icon to showcase their products on the big screen, while providing the dealers with a fun and interactive learning experience.
Each attendee was treated to free movie snacks for the show, in which Icon “ringleader” Phil Davy gave an informative and in-depth, and of course, entertaining, overview of the Icon apparel line-up. Dealers were able to learn all about what’s new and hot from Icon, as well as getting an up-close look at the products themselves. At the end of each show, Phil and the Icon crew gave an impromptu pop quiz, which gave dealers the chance to win movie gift certificates, and they also raffled off some very cool Icon products, including jackets and helmets!
Icon stars Jason Britton and others were also on hand for the presentations, a great chance for dealers to score some photos and autographs, and discuss Icon apparel with some of the hardcore road warriors who are out testing Icon gear on the street every day.
The “big screen” Icon Experience was the first dealer seminar of its kind. The presentations were uniquely entertaining and just what you’d expect from the company whose first priority is creating top-quality riding apparel that is not only on the cutting edge of safety, but on the leading edge of style. You can always count on Icon to bring new and edgy ideas to the table, and they’ve done it again, with the Icon Experience!
