Make sure to stop by the Avon booth at the Indy show to check out all that Avon has to offer and also to take the "Avon Tour."

ortunate enough to attend the Indy Expo? Make it a point to stop by the Avon exhibit and take the “Avon Tour.” Sure, every day there’s a whole passel of goodies handed out, but freebies aside the Avon Tour is a prize in itself. You’ll come away with a wealth of tire knowledge, all the tips, tricks and marketing techniques to boost sales back at the store. Can’t make it to the show? Not a problem. Avon has a “take home” version of The Tour, the “Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Tires” training CD. It contains all the same information you’d have received in person. Everything from tire construction to in-store displays is covered. You’ll learn exactly what makes up a tire and what features do what for what riders. The answers are here for any question any customer could possibly ask. The training CDs are free so ask your Parts Unlimited rep to set you up with one.
You’ll want to check out two of the newest tire-lines from Avon, too. The Storm ST AV55/AV56 and the Roadrider AM26 both neatly cover a huge portion of the motorcycle market. The Storm ST builds on the success of the Azaro AV45/46STs with an improved wet weather grip, a new profile to resist cupping and aid handling and there’s an all-new high-mileage tread design. The Roadriders cover a lot of ground, too. These tires are aimed right at what might be the biggest and most overlooked segment of the market, all those traditional bikes and everyday-commuter machines. The Roadrider AM26 gives these riders genuine Avon value and performance in an affordable package and there are plenty of sizes for most applications.
That Storm ST is a great sport-touring upgrade. Along with everything already mentioned, Avon has given these tires a “Reactive Footprint,” a contact patch that actually grows in size the further the bike is leaned into a turn. There are also Inverted Front Grooves (IFG) to resist cupping and ensure smooth handling, there’s an Enhanced Aqua Flow (EAF) tread pattern optimizing wet-weather running and all of this is based on Avon’s Advanced Variable Belt Density (A-VBD) carcass, a system of closely wound Aramid fibers in the center tread coupled with spaced fibers at the shoulders. Avon’s SRS (Super Rich Silica) compounding is here, as well, and the Storm ST even carries Road Hazard Warranty protection. During the first millimeter of tread wear Avon will replace the tire dealer direct if it’s accidentally punctured.
And for all those everyday riders there’s the AM26 Roadrider, a chance to step up to premium tires on a budget. A V-rated tire with all the benefits and extras of top-line tires is finally here. The Roadriders are all-weather, bias-ply and developed to give that huge riding segment what it wants most–durability in a great handling package. The Roadriders have a fantastic grip, the ride is smooth, the feel and handling is excellent–and they’re designed and compounded to last. The Roadriders have a light and precise feel, a casing design that lowers rolling resistance and a Multi-Arc Tread Profile gives the tire the largest possible contact patch whatever the lean angle. There are 32 Roadrider sizes to choose from too, a full dozen more than the nearest competitor offers for bias-ply V-rated tires. Parts Unlimited has them all so check with your rep.
So, make sure to stop by the Avon booth at the Indy Show for the “Avon Tour.” And if you can’t make it to the show, don’t forget to ask your rep for that “Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Tires” CD. Armed with tires like these, and that CD telling you how to best sell them, you can’t lose.
