veryone associates cruisers with the deep, rumbling bass of tuned pipes. Lately, however, a new sound has been emanating from more and more bikes–that of a stereo tuned to a rock ‘n’ roll station, or an iPod crammed full of iTunes. This revolution in on-board audio systems is growing so fast it’s hard to keep up with all the possibilities–unless you’re 2 Wheel Tunes, the leader in motorcycle audio components and accessories.
2 Wheel Tunes is now in its third year with Parts Unlimited, and so far every year has been better than the last, with last year’s sales doubling the previous year’s. And 2007 is going to be another banner year in more ways than one, thanks to new products designed to maintain the company’s lead in the motorcycle audio market.
First up is the Dock ‘n’ Rock, maybe the most innovative and original motorcycle audio accessory ever. Unlike other systems, it requires no ugly brackets or wiring to clutter up the clean look of the handlebar area. Instead, the Dock ‘n’ Rock’s amplifier is built into a riser that replaces the stock piece and bolts in place in minutes. The riser is pre-capped to match iPod and XM mounting systems, and the wiring plugs into most stock harnesses with a minimum of fuss. Just take off the four bolts holding the stock riser, bolt on the Dock ‘n’ Rock riser, plug it in, and add your audio player–it couldn’t be easier.
Next up, because MP3 players and Sirius/XM tuners come without bass, treble, or volume controls, 2 Wheel Tunes is introducing a volume control with integrated cross-over settings. It attaches to the bottom of the throttle housing and lets you tailor the sound to your preference. One plug goes to your audio source and the other to the amp, and you’re ready to roll
2 Wheel Tunes’ third blockbuster for 2007 is a USB charger for all the audio and video devices you need to keep charged on a long trip. Never again find yourself stuck with an iPod or MP3 player, digital camera, cell phone, or GPS that needs a charge, only to remember you left the charger at home.
Finally, you’ve probably heard your customers rave about 2 Wheel Tunes’ 2-inch speakers. Well, get ready for more, because now there’s a new 5-1/4-inch fairing speaker that’s even better. Available in 2ohm and 4ohm versions, they’re UV- and water-resistant and plug right into most stock wiring harnesses. And here’s the amazing part–these compact speakers are rated at 100 watts per pair!
2 Wheel Tunes audio products aren’t just designed to work great, they’re made to look great, too. Speaker grills in chrome and black powdercoat come in wild styles like Excalibur, Biohazard, Bling, Maltese Cross, Spider, and Flame. And why stop there? Pick out a set of turn-signal grills to match the speaker grills. They come in chrome and black powdercoat, too, with red or amber lenses.
2 Wheel Tunes products are available exclusively through Parts Unlimited. You can see the whole line in the Parts Unlimited catalog, or you can go online at 2wheeltunes.com and check out photos of past installations to see for yourself how neatly 2 Wheel Tunes motorcycle audio systems complement even the most stylish bike.
Next time you hear what you think is a bike with a set of pipes, listen closely. In the future it might get harder and harder to tell if the deep bass rumble coming from all those cruisers is the exhaust, or a 2 Wheel Tunes audio system. Talk to your rep for more information, and be sure to stop by the 2 Wheel Tunes booth at the Indy Show to check out all of their latest products.
