hen it comes to laced wheels Drag Specialties has it covered. The Drag Specialties brand wheels, every one of them, are made right here in the U.S.A. They’re as good as it gets and you can get them in a staggering variety of sizes, styles, configurations and widths. Something for everyone, and the prices are right.
     Traditional look? How about 40-, 60- or 80-spoke wheels in a cross-lace pattern. There are extra-wide versions of those traditional cross-lace wheels, too, perfect for putting a little more rubber under an old-school bobber. And for those shopping for a custom look in a laced wheel Drag Specialties has that, too, a great looking 50-spoke wheel with a Radial Lace pattern using big 3/8-inch spokes. The packaging and the name on the boxes holding all of this makes it an easy sell, too. These wheels are Drag Specialties, a name with clout.
All these wheel assemblies, traditional and custom, are high-quality and American made. The steel rims are chrome plated to a show finish and laced to chrome-plated billet aluminum hubs. The spokes are either polished stainless steel or chrome plated, and some come with custom smooth nipples. Brand-new bearings, seals and center spacers are included, the wheels are all DOT-approved, they’re assembled and trued to less than .005-in. run out and there are applications for just about everything. The rears are available all the way up to a big 10.50-inch width.
     And Drag Specialties has what it takes to complete the package. There’s a full lineup of pulleys and brake rotors all styled to match the wheels. The rotors are two-piece units using ductile iron with chrome-plated billet aluminum center carriers. They’re offered in a mesh style, a kind of cross-spoke design, and there’s a Klassic Design to go with those radial-spoke wheels. Matching pulleys–in both styles and a smooth version with no cut outs–are chrome-plated and available in either a 65-or 70-tooth configuration in 1 1/8-inch or 1 1/2-inch belt widths. All of this, wheels, rotors and pulleys, is available for all 1984 through 2007 model Harleys.
     Right alongside all those complete wheel sets there’s a full selection of Drag Specialties brand replacement rims available. There are 16-, 18-, 19- and 21-inch sizes with widths going up to a full 6-inches. Everything is DOT-approved; in fact, these are the same rims as used in the complete Drag Specialties wheel assemblies. There’s the same top-quality show chrome, drop-center styling and the Drag Specialties rims are available with the same spoke-dimple pattern as OE for a straightforward replacement or can be ordered dimpled to accept almost all spoke-lacing patterns.
     The beauty of all this is that everything is made in the USA, everything is DOT approved and it’s all Drag Specialties branded, packaged in those familiar blue-and-white boxes.
