he new Wingate rain gear from Arlen Ness Apparel almost makes riding in the rain fun! The jacket is made of a high-quality waterproof nylon with a mesh liner and heat-sealed YKK zippers throughout. The highly reflective piping along the arms and back yoke as well as a highly reflective Arlen Ness patch on the mid back keeps riders visible in poor conditions. Plus, riders will stay dry thanks to heat-sealed seams and a stored hood along the collar with a snap closure and an adjustable cinch on each side along the bottom to seal the deal. Storage includes two chest pockets with heat-sealed zippers and two side pockets with waterproof Velcro flaps.
The Wingate pants complete the rain proofing with an adjustable elastic waist with a Velcro enclosure and heat sealed zippers along both legs with Velcro flap closures. There are also heat shields along the lower legs, reinforced knees and elastic stirrups at the bottom of each leg. Reflective piping along each outer leg adds to the rider’s visibility by other drivers. The whole package, jacket and pants retail for only $174.95 and come with a nylon storage bag.
There is more from Arlen Ness apparel for 2007 with four new styles (two mens and two ladies) all with zip-out liners and with the same high grade washed leather that makes this line so unique and comfortable.
The Shelby and the Kayenta are for the ladies. Both are made of a high-grade, high quality Brazilian cowhide, drum dried for premium color and quality. Then, the leather is stonewashed for that “broken-in” look and feel that makes Arlen Ness leathers so comfortable the first time you put them on. There is a slight pre-curve in the arms and the sleeves are longer for a more comfortable ride. The Shelby features side buckle adjustment at either side and studs along shoulders and lower back. The Kayenta has lace sides and sleeves for adjustment and ribbing along the back shoulders for free range of movement. Both jackets have beautiful technical embroidery and removable, fleece liners (pink for the Shelby and black for the Kayenta) that are washable too. Other features include zippered pockets (two outside and one inside), zippered sleeves, high-grade YKK zippers and custom hardware. The Shelby and the Kayenta come in sizes XS- 2W.
For 2007 Arlen Ness has two new mens jackets with the Chandler and the Sterling. Made with the same high-grade, drum-dried, stonewashed great feeling leather already mentioned, the Chandler features side brass buckle adjustment and brass studs along the sleeves, front and lower back along with manly technical embroidery. Two front vents and two back vents supply a nice airflow. There’s a stylish quilted stitch design in the front and along the sleeves. Perforated ribbing along the back shoulder allows for free range of movement, and there are two outside, one inside pocket with two zippered pockets on each sleeve. The unique Sterling has snap adjustable sides and a front snap coin pocket as well as two deep outside and one inside zippered pocket. There are also zippered sleeves with screen-printed “A” logo on each. Both jackets come with a removable fleece liner and high-grade brass YKK zippers and custom brass hardware. Sizes start at medium and go all the way up to 4XL.
