t’s a real issue and it keeps getting bigger by the day. The “noise police” are out in full force and they’re not kidding around anymore. The decibel level of a motorcycle has jumped right up to Topic 1, on the track and on the trail. And Yoshimura has responded.
The new-for-2007 Yoshimura RS-2 Pro99 and Comp96 systems–both available right now–come with an AMA-compliant noise level. For the 2007 RS-2 that’s 99 decibels for the Pro-Series and a whisper-quiet 96 decibels for the Comp-Series. Those compliant sound levels didn’t come at the expense of performance, either. These pipes and silencers are Yoshimura; noise issues aside, everything here is built with the highest levels of performance in mind. The feature list is proof of that.
The RS-2 “Diamond Oval” exhausts feature a diamond-oval shape muffler that cuts the sound and enhances the packing material’s longevity. The Pro Series full-systems include Titanium headers, Titanium mid-pipes, that Diamond Oval Carbon Fiber/Titanium RS-2 muffler with a Titanium tip, plus there’s a Yoshimura wash plug and the retaining springs are heat-insulated. All that’s standard. For options you can set up the system with that Yosh-strong Titanium silencer or add eye-flash and cut weight with an ultra-lightweight and definitely cool Carbon Fiber sleeve. All mounting brackets are crafted for strength and support and if you’re still having doubts about the performance potential, don’t. These pipes power Factory Honda racers.
All this Yosh know-how is offered in an even quieter and more affordable RS-2 Comp96 System. Here you get a Stainless Steel header, Stainless Steel mid-pipe and that Diamond Oval RS-2 muffler in tough, long-lasting Aluminum. The Comp96 features a U.S.F.S. approved spark arrestor, there’s a Yoshimura wash plug and those same heat-insulated springs used in the Pro pipes. The Comp96 is available as a slip-on, too, using that Stainless Steel mid-pipe and the Aluminum Diamond Oval RS-2 muffler.
Now, if you’re looking for some really over-the-top performance exhausts for the Honda CRF250R check out the 2007 Yoshimura RS-3D-Dual Oval. It’s as trick as they come. This one-of-a-kind dual-muffler setup is cutting-edge stuff. Countless hours were spent designing and tuning the system to perfection and each system features a choice of Stainless or Titanium construction as well as the options of Titanium or Carbon Fiber muffler sleeves. RS-3D Pro99 full-systems have Titanium headers, Titanium mid-pipes, a pair of Dual Titanium/Carbon Fiber RS-3 mufflers, Yoshimura wash plugs and heat-insulated springs. The RS-3D Comp96 duplicates all that in Stainless Steel with Aluminum mufflers, U.S.F.S. approved. The Comp96 is also available as a slip-on, Stainless Steel mid-pipe and dual Aluminum RS-3 mufflers.
All these AMA noise-compliant 2007 Yoshimura full-systems and slip-ons are available right now. The sound might have changed but the game hasn’t, and at Yoshimura the name of the game is performance. Everything is offered through Parts Unlimited, so call your rep for more information.
