Avon’s new Storm sport-touring tires are specially designed for the ultimate in all-weather handling, mileage and stability. With benefits like Avon’s Enhanced Stability System, Advanced Tread Arc Combination and their Enhanced Aqua Flow technology, this is one tire that your sport-touring customers must see!

von’s new sport-touring Storm tires already have their first fan. A major one. Long-distance rider and iron-butt extraordinaire Gary Eagan has done it again, this time rolling from Vancouver, BC to Halifax, Nova Scotia, cross continent in a time of 51:04:00. He did it on the new Avon Storms, the AV55/AV56 STs.
The Storms are brand-new from Avon. These are sport-touring tires building on all the success and popularity of the Azaro AV45/46STs, tires already acclaimed as the perfect upgrade for sport-touring and sport-riders. The Storms take all that one giant step forward. There’s a greatly improved wet weather grip here, there’s a new and more rounded front profile to better resist cupping and aid in handling and the Storms have an all-new new and improved high-mileage tread design. Avon’s taken a good thing, the AV45/46ST, and made it better.
The sport-touring Storms are based on Avon’s Advanced Variable Belt Density (A-VBD) carcass construction. This carcass design uses a system of closely wound Aramid fibers in the center tread area for enhanced straight-up stability, spacing those fibers out just a bit at the shoulders for improved stability at high lean angles. The densely wrapped center belt is great for stability, wear and mileage; less dense belting on the shoulders makes for a huge and ultra-compliant contact patch.
The Storms also utilize Avon’s ES System (Enhanced Stability). The benefits here are reduced flex and improved grip for even more stability. Avon’s included SiO2-HD (High Dispersibility Silica) compounding, too. This allows the Storm to warm up fast for its super grip. The Avon ATAC (Advanced Tread Arc Combination) is included, as well. A varied tread profile, it maximizes handling and stability and on the Storm that front tire profile is even more rounded to resist cupping and further aid handling. And the Storm’s tread patterns are brand-new. They’re extra deep with a high resistance to wear, as Gary Eagan just proved. The sport-touring Storms can deliver excellent mileage. Those new high-mileage tread patterns use Avon’s Enhanced Aqua Flow (EAF) technology to optimize wet-weather running and with all this the new Storms carry Avon’s Road Hazard Warranty protection during the first millimeter of wear. The warranty covers accidental punctures and Avon will replace the tire.
The Avon Storm is available right now. It’s offered in all popular sizes for the sport touring market and these tires should make lots of riders Avon believers. The Storm features excellent all-weather grip combined with all the feel needed to really exploit the handling potential. Riders have always raved about Avons after making the switch. They’ll love the Storm. Even when a bike is fully loaded those new Avons can deliver a stable, agile ride and do it with mileage to match. Ask Gary Eagan. The new Avon Storm is a sport-touring tire for all conditions and situations and it’s available through Parts Unlimited.
