tarting back in ‘93 the Linbars became a rider’s favorite. Neatly styled and tremendously functional, this combination of engine guard and highway peg from Lindby Custom adds real style, to boot. The Linbars have been in the Drag Specialties FatBook for almost as long as they’ve been around, and you’ve undoubtedly been selling them like crazy. They’re mounted on Harleys everywhere.
Now take a look at the Multibars, the latest from Lindby Custom. These two are just out, one model to fit the Softails, another for the Road Kings and dressers. You’ll immediately note that these bars are bent in one piece; they don’t have the welded construction and pointed corners of the original Linbar. And in another change, in place of the Linbar’s neoprene O-ring footrests the new Multibars use a molded and ribbed one-piece footrest. And yes, it’s replaceable. And here’s the big news. The price here is as attractive as the new bars themselves. The Lindby Custom Multibar retails for a suggested $269.95, making it significantly less expensive than the Linbar.
That lower price doesn’t mean any fewer features, either. All of the construction, quality and rider benefits of the original Linbars are here, only now coming in a clean, one-piece design. The new Multibars are made up with thick-wall mild steel tubing, 1 1/4-inch diameter exactly matching the size of the originals. All the Lindby Custom clamp-on foot pegs and accessories fit and work perfectly. And of course the Multibar is finished in the same show quality chrome plating as the original.
Right now there are two Multibar model applications available, with more to come. Drag Specialties part number 1624-0079 fits the 1997 and up dressers and Road Kings, #1624-0080 fits 2000 and later Softail and Heritage models and they’re all an easy installation.
The Multibar is a direct bolt on. It uses existing mounting points and all the hardware is supplied. Any customer with even the most minimal mechanical skills and the simplest set of tools can have a set mounted in no time flat. Your service department can do it almost without thinking. Lindby Custom offers a strong warranty, too. There’s a lifetime workmanship guarantee on the bars themselves and a no-questions-asked replacement should anything ever go wrong (except an accident, of course). There’s even a 1-year warranty on the chrome, and those rubber footrests are available separately for replacement.
The Lindby Custom Linbar is already a sales success. At a low $269.95 retail price the Multibar will be just as successful–if not more so. That price puts these bars within reach of a whole new group of riders and, lower price aside, the Multibar’s one-piece, rounded design will appeal to lots of riders who just like the rounded look better. And the Multibars do look great on a bike. They’re in the Drag Specialties warehouses and available now.
