n her first-ever look down the fabled “black line” at the Bonneville Salt Flats Brian Klock’s fiancé, Laura Ellifson, piloted this beautiful bagger to a 137.5 MPH run right off the trailer. On the return run she clocked 142.8, good enough to set a new Class Record in MPS/PG, Modified Partially Streamlined/Pushrod Gas. Eventually Laura worked the brand-new Klock Werks bagger up to a 147 mile-per-hour speed, but she already had the record.
Just a week or so earlier Brian Klock had used the very same bike to take home the trophy in his first-ever TV appearance on the wildly popular Discovery Channel “Biker Build-Off” series. Not a bad couple week’s work for one bike, and here’s the kicker: Everything to build a custom bagger just like this one, a bike good-looking enough to win the “Build-Off,” fast enough to set land speed records and comfortable and reliable enough to ride cross-country will soon be available–exclusively–in the Drag Specialties FatBook. Some of the stuff’s already listed, part numbers and all. More is on the way as this is written.
“The whole thing,” says Brian Klock, “is based on our new, 200-tire frame package, and we’re referring to everything about this bike and this project as the ‘WFB,’ World’s Fastest Bagger, hardware.” That moniker went through a few changes. When the Klock Werks Design Team began work it was the “Way Fast Bagger.” After winning the Discovery Channel Build-Off it became the “World’s Famous Bagger.” And then at Bonneville with Laura twisting the throttle into the record books it became the “World’s Fastest Bagger.” Whatever the name, it’s all pretty special.
Start with the frame and fender package. Developed in conjunction with Rolling Thunder, it’s strictly bagger-based. Brian says it could easily be the beginnings of a custom Road King, Electra Glide or Road Glide. Set up for a 200 rear tire, it accepts all the factory components, but because it’s a full 2-inches longer in the backbone with a goosenecked steering head, the downtubes are definitely more flowing than anything OE. Indeed, so is the entire ‘bagger this frame builds, even using lots of bolt-on factory parts. The fairing here, for example, is stock Harley-Davidson Road Glide. The saddlebags are stock Harley, too, sporting Klock Werks “Full Back” lower extensions. Running down the parts list a little further, the gas tank is also stock Harley-Davidson with Klock Werks extensions, and the seat is from Danny Gray. Going deep into the aftermarket, the wheels are carbon fiber from Revolution, the brakes are Lyndall Racing rotors weighing 1.9 pounds each, the forks are Perse Performance black anodized by Danco, the brake calipers are HHI and the tires are Avon. And the engine set in the middle of all this is a 124-inch S&S using the 145-inch fuel injection system and S&S’s B2 cylinder heads. In this configuration, Brian says, that’s good for at least 150 horsepower but that number’s been upped a bit with some special work to the cylinder heads. The “Double Back” pipes are a new Klock Werks design to be manufactured by BUB and distributed by Drag Specialties. “Puffer” mufflers disappear into those Full Back saddlebag extenders. The transmission is a Baker DD6 and the bike uses S&S’s new clutch and a Pingel electric shifter. The absolutely stunning paint job was a collaboration between James Mayer, Gene Slater and Tex from TexEfx. They used PPG’s Vibrance materials, custom mixed with xrillic pearl throughout.
And before too much longer anyone will be able to go to the Drag Specialties catalog and duplicate this bike or build their own personalized version of something like it. Right now the Klock Werks Bag Fillers, the Floorboard Under Covers, the Dash, the Handlebars and the Speaker Grilles are all available. The frame, the complete exhaust system and the special saddlebag latches and lids are coming soon, with even more to follow. A bagger custom never looked this good, and everyone who’s seen the Klock Werks WFB agrees. Even guys like Roland Sands. “This,” Roland said, “is the bike I want to ride to Sturgis next year!” He isn’t the only one…

Floorboard Under Covers are a direct fit to the H-D ‘boards. They go a long way towards cleaning up the look of any bagger. They’re in the FatBook now.
Under that steel fender and behind the Cat’s Eye taillight the Klock Werks WFB’s frame is built to accept a 200-Series tire.
For this build The Klock Werks Team made up a pair of special filler panels between the fender and saddlebags. They’re custom-cut to accept a Pingel wheelie bar.
The rider’s view is all business – coupled with on-the-road amusement. Gauges are Dakota Digital with an AutoMeter tach and that’s a Sony DVD player. The speaker grilles are Klock Werks, in the FatBook.

Those wheels are high-tech carbon fiber, Revolution 18-inchers front and rear. The rotors are Lyndall Racing, forks Perse Performance anodized black. The brake calipers are HHI, the tires Avon.

That giant AutoMeter tach got a workout at Bonneville. The Klock Werks WFB, the “World’s Fastest Bagger,” ran 147-plus MPH.
The WFB frame can become anything wanted, a Road King, Electra Glide or Road Glide. It’s 2-inches longer than stock in the backbone, goosenecked at the steering head.

Saddlebags are OE Harley-Davidson with Klock Werks “Full Backs” lower extensions. The gas tank is a stock Harley-Davidson piece, too. Extensions blend it into the Danny Gray seat.
