hether your customers are racers or recreational riders, one thing that they all have in common is their desire to find an edge, either on the track, or on their daily ride. They look for products that can help to give them that something extra; high quality products built for top performance. Products like the FMF/STM Slipper Clutch, which is now available for Japanese sportbikes, Ducati, and other Euro brands. The STM Slipper Clutch is available from FMF and Parts Unlimited as distributors. This is an important product for Ducati owners, as STM’s ongoing development of the original Slipper Clutch for Ducati racers and riders helped contribute to two Superbike World Championships. Most Ducati riders know and strongly acknowledge the STM line of products from FMF, slipper clutches of course, especially since a number of high profile Ducatis come with dry clutches which can be problematic, but also frame plugs, crankcase breathers, slave cylinders, and quick change sprocket kits. For Japanese bikes, slipper clutches are presently successfully in use by Superbike and Formula Extreme AMA factory teams as well as Supermoto. There is also considerable factory level use of the STM/FMF slipper clutch systems on the professional Motocross and Off-Road teams as well.
The first test of an STM Slipper Clutch on the track dates back to 1996 and took place with Pierfrancesco Chili at the controls. In the same year the association with Ducati marked the official debut of the STM clutches in competition and started a long series of extraordinary successes, such as the conquest of the World Superbike Championship in 1998 and 1999 and of the AMA title in 2001 and 2002. In 2003, STM introduced the slipper clutches for the Suzuki and Yamaha wet systems for the World Superbike Series, and made its debut in Motocross and Supermoto with the clutch for the Honda CRF450. In 2004 STM became World Champion with Stefan Merriman in the Enduro World Championship.
From the World Champion to the non-professional rider, the STM technology has always been close to those who look for the best possible performances. You can now offer this amazing technology to your customers through Parts Unlimited and FMF. Along with the extensive list of other great FMF products, the STM Slipper Clutch is a true performance enhancement for any racer. FMF and STM–all about performance in many different disciplines, with enthusiasm and experience at work to bring the consumer the best.

ealers who promote and stock FMF products can feel confident that FMF will not only back up their efforts with quality products and timely supply, but also with aggressive advertising and promotions. FMF’s retail advertising in major magazines helps keep the FMF name, logo and product information in front of your customer’s eyes and on their minds. When they walk into your dealership they’ll immediately recognize and gravitate towards the FMF oval. FMF also aggressively advertises various products through editorial features, which helps contribute to the ease of selling at your dealership. A smart dealer strategy is to monitor FMF’s latest ads and editorial and then have the inventory and the advertised item prominently on display with FMF signage, making it simple and easy for the customer.
FMF’s latest ads can be viewed on their website. Their advertising covers product, image (the latest is FMF’s $300,000 campaign for the $299 Titanium pipe), and riders, especially in the off-road segment, to attract all customer types. FMF sponsors several MX and Off-Road racing teams and series and can claim winning riders in almost all segments and on almost all brands. Consider that most KTM off-road racers in the USA are running FMF, a fact that, for the consumer walking into a dealership looking for an exhaust, can create the desire to purchase FMF. But if it’s not in stock, the sale’s dead. Make sure to keep your shop well stocked with FMF! Call your Parts Unlimited rep today.
