When the 2006 AMA Supercross Series came to a close in Las Vegas this May, Bridgestone ruled the podium! Ricky Carmichael clinched the AMA Supercross title, James Stewart claimed the World Supercross title and Chad Reed was a very close third in the AMA point standings…and all of them got there aboard Bridgestone tires!

t’s true. Name a top racer. Supercross, Motocross, Enduro, Cross Country, it doesn’t matter. If the action’s taking place on the dirt chances are good that the guys standing on the podium after the dust settles will have gotten there on Bridgestone tires. Want some names? How about Ricky Carmichael, Chad Reed, James Stewart, and Ivan Tedesco?      Need some more? Grant Langston, Heath Voss, Nick Wey and Kevin Windham all race on Bridgestone tires, too. These racers can have whatever they want, and they choose Bridgestone. Bridgestone tires, obviously, get the job done. Whether it’s a factory team or a top privateer effort, it’s a good bet that the tires on that winning racer will be Bridgestones.
Every one of your hard-charging customers can have all that, too. Every racer looks for the cutting edge, the equipment to get them around the track the quickest and the fastest. When it comes to tires for the dirt the trick is Bridgestone. That isn’t an idle boast on Bridgestone’s part, either. The record books prove it’s true. Over the past 13 years, Bridgestone tires have won more AMA Professional Motocross and Supercross championships than all other tire manufactures combined.
All those Bridgestones are in the Parts Unlimited catalog, too, just a phone call away. Soft terrain tires? Bridgestone has the M201 and M202. Intermediate terrain? There’s the ever popular, do-it-all M401 and M402, and for the really hard-packed action Bridgestone has the M601 and M602 combo set. All those tires are available in all the sizes too, and they’re all the tools of the trade for championship riders in the know.
And of course there are plenty of hot-performing Bridgestones designed, developed, tested and produced just for all those hot-performing 4-strokes now on the track, the bikes that have really taken over the dirt. Bridgestone offers all these 4-stroke specific tires in the sizes these bikes demand, too. The Bridgestone 4-stroke fronts are available in a 90/100-21 M201, a 90/100-21 M401A and there’s a 90/100-21 M601. Soft, Intermediate and Hard. And for all those 250 4-strokes, there’s a 110/80-19 M402A rear and a 110/80-19 M602A. For the bigger 450s, Bridgestone offers rears sized 120/80-19 M202, 120/80-19 M402A and 120/80-19 M602A. Those “A” series tires have a more aggressive lug pattern for extra 4-stroke bite. Once again, Soft Terrain, Intermediate Terrain and Hard Terrain, all ready to win.
That winning Bridgestone performance isn’t by chance. There’s serious design and development at work here. Take those intermediate M401/M402s, as an example. This broad range of tires was specifically designed to effectively deal with all sorts of terrain conditions. The M401 front features a unique casing shape with plenty of volume for an increased contact patch, better damping, better bump absorption and exceptional straight-line stability. The M401’s block placement has been optimized for continual contact at all lean angles and increased braking grip, too. At the rear the M402’s Dual Tread Compound (DTC) combines a long-lasting center compound with softer side compounds for enhanced grip, and the M402 also features tall center blocks for maximum dig. There’s optimum block spacing for exceptional grip and wear, as well. Bridgestone also redesigned those M402 center and shoulder blocks for better control at all lean angles.
This kind of thought, effort and execution extends throughout the Bridgestone lineup. Little wonder why all these tires are a winner’s choice. They’re available through Parts Unlimited, in stock now.
