![]() With the Avon Roadrider AM26, a too-long-forgotten segment of the market now has the chance to step up to some premium tires, genuine Avons. With the Roadriders they’re getting all the benefits and extras premium tires deliver, and better still they’re getting it at an attractive, affordable price. The Roadrider is a brand-new, all-weather design, a bias-ply tire developed and constructed to give everyday riders everything they care about most. There’s durability here, there’s a fantastic grip, there’s a great ride with great handling and great all-around performance. Avon looked hard at what matters most to riders of all those traditional and commuter bikes and came through with everything these riders ask for. There are special tread patterns with an Interrupted Center Groove to resist tracking, and the fronts and rears are matched. There’s a special silica compound for grip and the Roadriders were designed with the need for light and precise in-town/slow-speed handling foremost. Avon even included an advanced casing design to lower rolling resistance and enhance the feel. All of this was coupled with a no-nonsense, all-weather compound with real durability. And Avon didn’t overlook high-speed performance. As good as the Roadrider is in-town, it has all the high-speed characteristics you’d expect from an Avon. The Roadrider AM26 is V-rated to 149 MPH/240 KPH across the board. Avon engineers also included the Multi-Arc Tread Profile to give the Roadrider the largest possible contact patch, whatever the lean angle. All this is great news to plenty of riders and it’s good news for you, too. The Roadrider makes stocking easy. The new Roadrider replaces the Supervenom AM20/AM18, the Roadrunner AM20/AM21 (except for 4 sizes–more on that in a minute) and it replaces the HKM AM51/AM52. It’s a simple stocking solution that covers a whole range of bikes that, until now, were served by a haphazard collection of sizes and ranges. Avon will, however, keep the four most popular Roadrunners around for a while as riders transition over to the Roadrider. Meanwhile, there are Roadrider AM26s available right now in a wide assortment of sizes all perfectly matched to that big segment of the market so often overlooked, the bread-and-butter mid-sized motorcycles. In fact, there are 32 sizes to choose from, 12 more than the nearest competitor offers for bias-ply V-rated tires. Parts Unlimited has them all, so check with your rep and make your life easy. You’ll be making your customers a lot happier with the Avon Roadrider AM26, too. |
