MF is well known for its high quality exhaust systems and performance parts for Motocross and Off-Road racing. But don’t forget that FMF is also one of the leading performance exhaust makers for ATVs and street bikes.
FMF makes systems for almost any ATV you can name, including the emerging and very special niche segments. How about exhausts for models such as the Rhino 660 and 450, the Polaris Ranger XP and the Arctic Cat Prowler? These exhaust systems are hard to come by from anyone else. These niche segment items along with the actual machines, need to be sold “on their own” and not lumped with other quads and products at your dealership. There are two versions that are great sellers, the Powercore 4 being the slightly higher performance system. A race designed muffler at an affordable price, the Powercore 4 is repackable, lightweight and tunable for a variety of applications. As is the case with all products FMF develops–they first consider the intended use and expected user and then develop product from the ground up. This segment’s Powercore 4 mufflers are built using stainless steel canisters of FMF’s own fabrication, to withstand the higher heat and RPM levels this class of machine is known to generate.
The FMF Powerline, for Quads and also for the above-mentioned “UTV” segment, was developed with close consideration for the utility customer market. Constructed from 100% U.S. stainless steel, the PowerLine is durable. Reliability is no question either with the complete mechanical internal design. That means no packing–none. The PowerLine houses a series of precise baffles and chambers to lower sound and perform better than stock. As an added benefit, the PowerLine is considerably lighter than many stock utility exhausts and has a Forestry-approved spark arrestor incorporated in the design. These FMF pipes are specifically designed to enhance the performance of the unit by providing increased torque and power without a lot of additional sound, and to hold up to long-term use.
Believing that not all customers want the same thing, FMF offers a couple of choices for the new Suzuki LTR 450. First, a premium offering in the Factory 4.1 slip-ons and full systems. Even though FMF originally called these Factory 4, many of the key features offered in the Factory 4.1 are derived and utilized with this muffler–titanium construction, modular exhaust port flange and proprietary multi-layered packing material. Combined with exclusive internal core and PowerBomb technology, these units utilize FMF’s latest innovations to boost 4-stroke performance. They also include the “FMF powerchip.” This is the perfect complement for FMF exhausts; it plugs into the stock harness to adjust electrical and fuel delivery to accommodate the more free-flowing exhaust. For performance at a great price point, FMF’s Powercore 4 slip-ons are a great choice also for the LTR–durable, light and powerful.

MF is working to become a leader in street exhaust systems as well, another segment that needs to stand on its own in your dealership. They recently finished totally new development of a performance slip-on exhaust for the 2006 Suzuki GSX-R 600/750–this thing is gnarly and already installed on Jason Briton’s new bike. FMF continues to demonstrate versatility in approach, which is exemplified with this new exhaust, MotoGP styling, approximately 10 lbs. lighter than stock, and a pleasing aftermarket sound and very aggressive look. Other applications like the 2006 ZX-10 are just coming out now too.
STM products such as the Controlled Engine Braking System (CEB) clutch are now available for Ducatis and many other street bikes. All STM items are now being further campaigned by FMF, and aggressively distributed by Parts Unlimited. STM clutches are available now and being raced on CB-RR Hondas (600 & 1000), GSX-Rs, R-1s, R-6s, and others. STM, like FMF, does most of their development with professional race teams, in this case on the MotoGP and World Superbike circuits. You too can have the secret weapon top factory riders and teams have been using for years without anyone knowing.
Dealers should check out FMF’s new website at www.fmfracing.com, specifically the new Product Finder feature, which makes it much easier to find everything and to check applications. Now you can see all products available for a specific model just by entering make, model, and year.
