eam K&N” is all over AMA flat track racing this season. Sponsoring two of the hottest riders around–both supported by one of the best tuners in the business–K&N has really upped its presence at the races. When Johnny Goad’s riders, No. 21 “Jammin’” Jared Mees and No. 67 Mike “The Hackman” Hacker take to the track they’ll both be flying the K&N colors. Dirt track racing has always been K&N’s proving grounds for horsepower with real filtration, making K&N a racer’s choice since the company’s beginning. This year everyone in the stands is going to know that, too.
It was a natural for K&N to hook up with Johnny Goad, Jared Mees and Mike Hacker. Johnny Goad is one of the most respected mechanics/tuners at any AMA GNC National. He’s the guy who brought Jared Mees up through the ranks, ending the 2005 Series with a National #3 in the Short Track Class, 4th Overall in Grand National Points and AMA Hot Shoe National Champ with both the 505s and 750s. And Mike Hacker is no stranger to the podium, either. “The Hackman” ended the ‘04 season 7th Overall in GNC points and this season he’s back with master tuner Johnny Goad. In 2000 this pair finished 5th overall. With K&N sponsorship, Goad, Mees and Hacker will all pit together for 2006.
Of course their bikes will all be outfitted with K&N filters. No surprise there. For decades K&N has been the filter choice for virtually every racer on the track. K&N’s Universal/Racing Air Filters are designed, developed and built to fit a wide variety of applications. No matter what the angle, offset or diameter of the air intake there’s a K&N Universal Air Filter for the job. Those Universal Air Filters are available in all sorts of sizes, shapes and designs, too. There are round versions, tapered versions and oval designs, one that’s just right for just about any application. They’re all manufactured with ultra-strong molded pliable rubber flanges built to absorb vibration with a tight, secure attachment and there are probably 1,000 different Universal Air Filters to choose from coming in sizes to fit any intake stack or 90-degree ram-air attachment for both carburetors and throttle bodies. And they’re great on the street, too. The levels of filtration and airflow are second to none, the filters are all reusable and with proper cleaning and re-oiling they’ll most likely last the lifetime of the bike. And they look fantastic. A K&N Universal/Racing High-Flow Air Filter is all business. Just clamping one of these filters onto the intake makes any bike look 10 mph faster, not to mention what it does for that all-important filtration and airflow!
Johnny Goad wouldn’t dream of sending his riders out without a K&N. You shouldn’t, either. K&N Universal/Racing Air Filters are all available through Drag Specialties.
