et’s face it; cables are not the sexiest item in your shop. Wrapped up in a coil, trapped in a plastic bag and hanging behind the counter–or worse, just hanging straight down, they don’t set a customers eyes or imagination on fire–especially when you have had them in stock for three or four months and had to rearrange your shelves. The bags rip, the cables start sticking out in 15 different directions and they just don’t look new. Cables in packaging like that are not going to become an impulse buy anytime soon.
But as you know, replacing cables every few years is a sure way to prevent on-road disaster. With that in mind, Drag Specialties took a long hard look at those ugly cable displays and designed all new packaging that will make displaying, promoting and selling cables a lot more exciting. When a customer comes in and sees the new “pizza box” and “clamshell” packages, he is probably going to be much more inspired to replace a part that he should be replacing anyway.
But new packaging is not all Drag Specialties cables offer your customers. The whole line of Drag braided cables incorporate a perfectly matching design, so they look right on your customers bike and match the Drag braided lines. Braided clutch, throttle and idle cables are coated with a non-yellowing, clear cover to prevent abrasions to paint and metal surfaces and are available in many over, under and standard lengths.
Black vinyl Drag Specialties clutch, speedometer, throttle and idle cables have matching black vinyl outer casings–again for a packaged look.
From a technical standpoint, all Drag throttle and idle cables feature tempered-steel inner wire and nylon sleeves to assure smooth operation and long life. Drag clutch cables utilize high-performance longitudal housing and inner sleeve designs for the best compression resistance possible–while still maintaining smooth operation and light pull. All cables undergo the same testing and approval processes as OEM control cables. Also, the 2006 FatBook has charts to make cable conversions and custom application fitment even easier. Another great idea is to incorporate a Müller Power Clutch ball and ramp assembly for the lightest pull available!
Cables may not have been much of an inspiration in the past, but the new line of Drag Specialties cables–braided and black vinyl–are ready to jump off the shelves and make your cash register ring! Call your rep for more information.
