t’s the big Kahuna of motorcycle dealer shows in the United States, the annual Dealernews Powersports Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. This year’s show was well attended and upbeat, but there were some differences from events there in the past. Following show producer Advanstar’s push to create a show in Las Vegas for the Harley-Davidson segment of the market, there was a noticeable lack of Harley and related V-Twin exhibits this year. What replaced much of that was a flood of exhibits by motorcycle, ATV and scooter manufacturers from China and other Asian countries. They left no doubt that they have arrived in the United States and are ready to do business. Parts Unlimited always has a major presence at the Indy Show and this year was no different. The Parts “compound” was busy all weekend with loads of new products from Thor, Moose, Icon, Z1R and other suppliers on display. Travis Pastrana, Ben and Eric Bostrom, Nate Adams and a host of other Parts Unlimited-sponsored racers were in attendance, as were the full force of the Parts Unlimited sales and service organization.

What a team! No doubt working up their next great co-promotion are (from left): Ken Sezaki, Nick Puoci and Tommy Haner of Pro Circuit with Jared “Boo” Suber, Brian Green, Rob Buydos and Zach Blazek of Parts Unlimited.
Freestyle rider Nate Adams chats with some adoring fans. Be sure to check out the feature story starting on page 92 about Nate. His career has certainly had its ups and downs and was recently documented in a DVD.
Here’s what happens when a custom bike builder uses a Supermoto bike as his subject. Noted Southern California builder Jesse Rooke made a “thumper” out of an S&S “Big Twin” engine and went from there. Sweet! Fully-accessorized Yamaha Rhinos were all over the exhibit hall including this one in the Moose booth. The add-on doors turn it into a neat little hot rod.

(Right) That’s the Bostrom Brothers, Eric (left) and Ben, working the crowd hard to let everyone know about their new line of Boz exhaust systems.

Moose-sponsored Josh Demuth received the 2006 K&N Boo Koo Arenacross championship trophy from Promoter Mike Kidd in the Parts Unlimited booth during the show. Brad Kruckenberg of Moose took part in the presentation.
Off-road riders and enthusiasts get up early every year on the Sunday of the Indy Show to attend the BRC annual Breakfast of Champions. The crowd keeps getting larger, the program better and the fundraising results bigger. This year’s take was nearly $17,000 for the BlueRibbon Coalition’s political action fund. First time Breakfast of Champions emcee Rick Sieman did a great job interviewing many of the attending riders and celebrities of the past and present. He talks here with famed television commentator Larry Maiers while Jack Penton, John Penton and Bob Hannah wait their turn.
Mike Ego (3rd from left) has been one of Parts Unlimited’s top producing sale reps for many years. He accepted an award from Greg Blackwell, Jeff Fox and Lou Lopez at the company’s annual awards banquet.
