Engineering, long known for its innovative and high quality exhausts
and accessories has separated itself from the competition in a whole
new way. Beginning in 2006, Cobra Speedsters, PowerPros, Dragsters, StreetRods,
and selected Touring Pipes will come with a lifetime warranty. Cobra
says it will repair or replace any of these pipes that are found to be
defective of workmanship or discoloration for as long as the original
owner has that pipe on the original motorcycle. To see which systems
this warranty covers and for a copy of the full warranty, you can visit
the Cobra web site at HYPERLINK "http://www.cobrausa.com" www.cobrausa.com.
“We’ve believed for a long time that we make the best exhaust
systems in the business, both in performance and quality, and we see
this lifetime warranty as one extremely powerful way to demonstrate to
our customers our unfailing belief in our products. Should something
be deemed defective by Cobra we will repair or replace the system for
the original owner as long as it is installed on the original bike,” said
Tim McCool, President of Cobra Engineering.
With recent multi-million dollar investments in state-of-the-art equipment
at its Yorba Linda, California headquarters, the overall quality of Cobra’s
products continues to be among the highest in the business. That, coupled
with products like the revolutionary Fi2000 and advanced manufacturing
techniques, has helped the company expand its leadership position in
aftermarket exhausts and accessories. Cobra’s dedication to on-going
product improvement and innovation is what has made it a category leader.
And that is as important for the product as it is for the service the
company gives to its customers.
McCool explained, “Look, in the Harley-Davidson segment alone you
can’t swing a slip-on without hitting a whole bunch of aftermarket
exhaust suppliers. We know we make some of the best performing, best
looking, and highest quality systems a customer can buy. With our new
lifetime warranty, we now give customers the confidence they want and
expect from a leader in this category. We believe this will also help
riders make the best decision when faced with the confusing array of
exhaust choices available today.”
Clearly with such a strong product mix,
great reviews from customers and laudatory reviews from all of the major
motorcycle magazines, Cobra is on the right track. With this industry-leading
warranty program the company has suddenly put some distance between it
and the rest of the crowded pack of exhaust manufacturers.

owadays,
many custom bikes are becoming so outrageous that they are beginning to
look more like some sort of mutated insect or prehistoric creature rather
than a working motorcycle. Cobra has taken a unique approach–tweaking
stock machines with bolt-on parts and custom paint to create projects that
you could complete in the comfort of your own garage with a bit of elbow
grease, creativity and a basic tool set. And end up with a customized motorcycle
that you can actually ride. Each of the following machines could be created
without having to use a torch, welder, or a gallon of bondo. Each is a
variation on the theme that stock is a rock solid platform upon which to
build a unique, cool and rideable custom.
Take
the Honda Aero 750 for example; while the team from the Cobra Special Projects
Division (Cobra SPD) did quite of bit of custom work on the frame, most
of that bike’s great look comes from the bolt-on accessories
and vintage paint scheme. On the other hand the Suzuki M109 shows a more
stripped-down effort when the team took off truckloads of plastic covers
and polished the cases and metal hidden beneath those covers. The Yamaha
Warrior got the most extensive work with the addition of the Yamaha Speedstar
bits and Patrick Racing performance modifications, bumping the power to
more than 100 hp.
But whether you are taking parts off or bolting them on, you could build
your own version of any one of these machines at home; or think of them
as road mile markers for you to follow as you customize your personal ride.
